No worries Kenyon. Any thread can be of great help on this forum as I have found by browsing already. But hopefully this will become more detailed as we go along with the dismantle clean and reassembly etc.

Hi eman yes you could well be the closest. Thank you for the offer may well take you up on it when the kit arrives.
All back from Holiday to and have an engine crane now. Does anyone have some pictures or advise on what to use and where to strap to lift body of? Many thanks.

Hi, you use the seat belt points on the mx5 to lift it as that's a decent balance point.
Stuart has photos in the official build guide that you can download from the MeV website

Well have just had a chat with my dad to be told that he has just got off the phone with MEV and that our kit should be ready to collect by next weekend. Exciting times!! Best get a move on and get some cleaning up done. then this thread may become busier with photos, information and most likely - - questions!!

Just a little update on the progress all suspension in process of being stripped down and ppf has been split. Have started to paint a few bits after attacking with an angle grinder and cleaning up rust. Angle grinder also made an appearance on getting the rear lower wishbone bolt out. Seized solid!!! Next job now is to burn out the bushes or press out if any one can reccomend a home made press/installer? Also need to remove engine and gearbix from front subframe so that can be prepped and painted. Get to pick the kit up on friday and get ready to paint it.

Hi @scotmev. If you have a look at page 8 of my build, you'll see what I knocked up to push out the bushes. Really easy to push the bushings out in less than a minute each.

Hi Fin,
Yeah looks good. Was the threaded bar from the scissor jack to?

Yes. Just happened to have a spare laying around, but later I had to buy a threaded bar of a smaller diameter as one of the crush tubes in a bushing was too tight for the screw jack bar, and use a nylock nut at one end.
