Depends on the age of the donor etc. Check section 2 of the iva manual.

I think most require the cat. I have a mk2 1.8 and it does. Lots of nice parts, what shocks are they? Mike Mesiter Zeta R. What a lot of mx5 guys use nice but not cheap. Alan bowker has it on his mega Exocet too.

Can't find it on page 21 trident. Although now have car envy again of yours. Need to pull my finger out. My donor is a 1998 so guess I will need a cat. Atleast for IVA I have three exhausts to Frankenstein something together.

If you donor is 1998 then yes you will. The flow chart about 3/4 of the way down page 21 shows the requirement of CAT etc. I thought you had a L reg plate on the car in one of your 1st photos.. is that not your donor?

The first car was one I had as a donor but then I bought the nearly finished car and the first owner used a mk 2 98. Another problem reading the forum last night that as the second owner of the chassis the original receipt is in someone else's name and I might end up with a Q plate. Got to IVA first so a while to go yet.

Finally some work on the car today getting the pedals and steering column back in. Easy me thinks.... Oh no, after several hours I have figured the correct amount of spacing behind the pedal box to get it all right. Make the spacers then move on... Slow progress but great to see parts going back on.

Quick bit of advice please.. When setting up the throttle cable do you want the maximum stop to be hit on the throttle body pulley or the foot pedal stop?

I would say use the peddle stop. If you use throttle body stop and there is still movement on throttle cable to peddle stop there's a chance of straining cable and possibly damaging throttle body . Well that's how I would set it up

definitely the pedal stop. the extra stress on the throttle shaft over time could cause the butterfly screws to shear.
