Cheers guys I will go with 15's. Getting a friend to measure the existing spacers check that for me as I'm out of the country for a while. Get some shiny rims and mesiter zeta suspension for when I get home.

Does anyone know of any reason that a mk2.5 1.8 vvti engine gearbox and diff wouldn't fit in an Exocet. I can get one cheap and thinking the engine Torsen diff and gearbox are well worth it to turn my Exocet into a weapon.

Gearbox yes but diff no as the mounts are totally different, gearbox gives rubbish ratios with the mk1/2 diff so a bit of a stalemate without complex fabrication

Any 98>05 eng, trans, diff fit the Exocet frame.. VVT engine may interfere with hood.changes were made to USA frames don't know about UK kits.. A small hood blister solves the problem.

Taking those together it sounds like you may also need the subframe at the rear...

Well I can get the whole car cheap and transplant all the running gear. I don't mind modifying the frame to fit as I can weld, just more expense when I have an engine already in. I was thinking of turboing the current 1.6 powrplant. So all I really want at the minute is an LSD that fits with my MK 2 1.6

It's quite a change as the difference is 90° on the differential mounting

Sacked off the whole idea again now back to finishing the car and getting it on be road. Then take it off the road for a complete strip down and build to my specs.

First actual bit of work done today, parts sorted through and crap binned. Rear ARB ground and rust treated ready for paint and fitting. Also many shiny parts orders aswell as lots of consumables get things topped up and bled. Three weeks off so hoping for big progress.

Many thanks to Stuart today. I went up to MEV to collect some bits and bobs and came back with a lot of stuff to keep me going.

For IVA is a cat necessary in the exhaust? I presume so to meet emissions levels?

I think most require the cat. I have a mk2 1.8 and it does.
Lots of nice parts, what shocks are they?
