Forgive my ignorance, but where does the mount usually go and why is this more beneficial? Thanks in advance! This is on the drivers side trans tunnel. There is a reinforced steel plate welded in with a hole to mount the harness to, but the problem is the parking brake interferes with the harness when you are buckled in. I didn't want the two wearing against each other so I added the threaded spacer to move the harness out, but just doing that you are adding a lever arm in the event of a crash, that's why the extra steel plate is important since its directly in line with the load.

Gotcha, makes sense, I figured you wouldn't go through the hassle if it wasn't worth it. Thanks!

IT'S ALIVE!!!! I had some friends over today and after a couple false starts its running!!! First turn of the key, nothing happened, then a friend reminded me I need to push the clutch in before it will start. Doh! Then it would turn over but didn't want to start. Checked spark, ok. Checked fuel, no fuel. The fuel pump was seeing 12v. Eventually we figured out the fuel lines were switched where they go to the fuel rail. After fixing that it started up pretty quick!

I've been spending a lot of time thinning out excess wires from the loom. I've got one of the large rubbermaid boxes pretty much filled with removed black electrical tape and wires I've pulled out but there still seems to be tons of extra wire in the car.

Looks just like the $35 one I'm running from Lowes ... Except mine is mounted on the rear most section of the trans tunnel near the rear bulkhead

lhintze: Just the cheap one from O'reily. Mounted to the trans tunnel with 3M VHB adhesive.
Steadfast: Its up above Stevens Creek Reservoir, up Stevens Creek Canyon road then cutting over to Hwy 9. I'm definitely down to meet up some time. I'm finishing up my registration right now.

I got the fenders mounted using the hardware Steadfast used on his build thread. I'm not 100% happy with how solid the metal bars feel. It seems like they have a fair bit of movement when driving and I see a little evidence that at least one of the bars is contacting the inside wall of one wheel when I hit a bump. I'm going to try to bend it out for a little more clearance. I took the car out to Doughnut Derelicts in downtown Los Altos on Saturday. Everyone seemed really interested in it! Even with beautiful old collectors cars parked right next to it, I think mine drew the biggest crowd. Next up will be mounting the hood and taking it to the CHP Tuesday after next. Any advice for how to mount the hood would be most appreciated! I have two AeroCatches but haven't figured out exactly what else I will need. I'm thinking just aluminum standoffs in the front, you guys think that will be strong enough?

I used 4 quik latch mini's, with their optional extended length studs. One on each corner.

I like what Einy has recommended. Any desire to do Cars and Coffee SF this coming weekend? I bet we could get a good group of Exocets to go.

Small enough, a good drive down there, and very unique cars. canepa.com/canepa-cars-coffee-returns-for-2016/
