Don't know if this is a workable idea, but what about making a larger centre tunnel? Fold a taller one to accomodate the extra bits you want to run?
Just an Idea maybe?

Any one any ideas about fitting the fuel sender! im happy using the R1 and accept it will say full prety much untill its empty, but how best to fit it?? i presume it goes underneath, but is it drill two small holes and try and fit it all inside then bolt or do you cut a section underneath to fit it all in.
Plus how you you bolt it in, Rivnut! what would rust / not mix with pertoll well cheers

Aluminium RivNuts, I know Rivnuts are a pain in the arse for stripping, but once you have fitted it, you are not likely to take it out again. Can you not fit a VDO Dip Pipe sender topside instead?

Im getting RTR to fit me a sight gauge on one tank, and I will be fitting a Marine 240/33 sender to match my USA gauge which again is a top side mounted dip pipe, can't have a lever as it is a funny shape tank.

Could get another sender but not too fussed, looks like £70-£100 get one , the small bits are adding up and dont want to go over budget!
Will rvinut plus seal it , anyone figure out roughly how many miles you will get with both tanks full??

Sold my VW splitty ealier this week which has created loads more room in the garage, but was sad to see it go , aparantly owning two cars that both cost three times more than the family car is a bit selfish! go figure. Anyway have cleaned the garage and the Tr1ke and got a few pics Nose cone is nearly fitted just few more adjustments, its a good fit, got one of the tanks in after jacking the tr1ke right up to get underneath clutch cable fitted very easy! waiting for some more radiator parts! bought a seat runner, need to sort lights, hope to start the electrics in the next couple of weeks, work is busy at the moment, you never know i might actually finish this this year and get some nice weather!

Be careful. Coolant is corrosive, that is why the hosematerial is different. Don't use the wrong hose!

Cheers vtr1k have gone for the more exspensive stuff as it mentions coolant, worried about the 6mm hose though only seen and bought stuff that is classed as breather hose!
pics to follow but made a good start on the electrics and the radiator hosing is nearly finsihed , i think i have got them in the right place! going on holiday so just trying to get all the parts i will need to finish now, they keep adding up! plus starting to read through the MSVA test to make sure i comply with there rules for the electrics
Some decions i would appreciate your opinons on firstly fuel pump/pumps the demo has two r1 fuel pumps with a swirl tank as well, RTR said this was done because on the track when getting thrown around corners plus low fuel meant they were getting fuel starvation!
What are your plans, should i copy them or will simply one fuel pump be fine, swirl tanks are fairly exspensive and i have not found one suitible, any ideas/ know where i can get one they all seem to be for injection systems.
fuel sender again, using the origanl r1 have got it fiited but not attached, cant use rivnuts because the holes will be too close and just create one large hole. Got some gasket sealer for it and think i might just use self tapping stainless stell screws with copper washers! any comments to this.

I intend to have the stock tanks from RTR with just a sight level on one tank initially, but I intend my metal fabricator buddy to replicate the tanks and move the filler neck to accommodate my fuel sender in the form of a marine dip pipe. I would normally have used a VDO dip pipe but my gauge is an american one so I need a compatible one for the ohms reading and a USA marine one from say a mastercraft boat should do the trick. I intend to mount this topside and then have a custom fuel filler brought up to the top of the frame for easy access on both tanks. Not thought about a swirl pot, hope i wont need one. I am gonna use the standard fuel pump, but these aren't too much to buy as an aftermarket part should i need one.
Keep the pics coming :-)
