I don't want to spoil any good ideas, but mounting a check valve don't seem to be a good idea: - in time, it can get stuck - if it is a spring-return one, the fuel flow will not be sufficient enough to open the valve
In racing tanks there is often a kind of foam used inside the tank to keep the fuel in one place...
But I thougt about the problem too, and didn't come to an idea... yet... I do not know how much space there is for a small catch tank.

demo Tr1ke set up, has one r1 fuel pump after the t peice before the swril tank, then one roughly where it would be on the origanal set up, also you can see there swirl pot which i think is custom made by RTR! might have to see wether they can make me one, The diagram is great thanks, makes allot more sense to me Vtr1k if memory serves me correctly you have the injection engine which has an internal fuel pump in the tank! is that why you have three or is that what you recomend. I think one will not be suffiecnt on the bike they are effectivly gravtiy fed, is a second r1 the best option you think Thanks for the comments and encouragment on the pics Paul

Correct, my I need to mount the pump inside a tank that is why I made this diagram. I thought that the former models also had this system, but it is not... For carburettor engines, Demon Tweeks can also supply the correct pump. Then you don't have to depend on gravity only. Check this: www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Search.do?method=delegate&n=810&s=fuel+pumpcheers

Cant be long now till you get them! just bought a second r1 pump on ebay at a good price, hoping by using the exact pump and the swril pot the psi will be spot on and no fuel starvation. Might need some help with a fuel pipe diagram latter though.
busy for a couple of weeks but will have time at easter to crack on , have lots of new parts on order.

Thats fantastic, a good price too, I had been looking at the plastic water pipe stuff at the camping centre as its £1.99 a metre, thought it might be a good way to keep the wiring in one place, but I think although more money, this is a much better idea.

Bit more progress, ended up buying a new fuel pump from ebay! one that venon pointed out! owe you another one for that. you should be able to see the pump laid out ready to be bolted to the bulk head, both tanks in and all the pipe work for the radiator attached steering all conected, both wheels on and pipe work for the brakes, waiting for a resivoir swirl tank, im confused , do i attach the top pipes from the petrol tanks to the two side outlets to the swril pots? then make breather holes??? hope that make sense, any help gratefully recived Have done a bit more on the dash, got the speedo attached, and bought a few more bits, will hopefully get a day on it over easter.

Connect the lowest to the engine and the upper connection must be used as a return line to the fuel tanks. The 2 in between must be return line from engine and supply line from the tanks. Doesn't matter which of the 2 is which. As long as the engine is fed from the lowest point of the swirl tank and the upper is the return (excess fuel) to the fuel tank.

ok, so the very top one is the return to the tanks!bottom goes to the engine . Do i need to put any one way valves on any thing eg the return from the engine. Each tank i will have to drill a seperate breather?

Hiya Fella, I picked up a Kliktronic unit a while ago www.nabd.org.uk/openhouse/openhouse43/pics/kliktronic.jpgSo I have asked RTR to weld me a bracket on the chassis so I can mount it. I intend to use a pair of Tig welding paddle buttons as my shift up and down, and mount them on the back of my racing wheel on a coil telephone cable to the control box, I had thought to have a separate system in case it fails, but will take a look after its test maybe.
