Doing a great job there, I'm far from an exocet expert I've only been studying these build threads for a couple of weeks,
but see the pic of the back of your car at the garage, looking at the position of your exhaust, the last build thread I read he had three bars joined together in a u shape going between the lower wishbone thingy mijigs, right where your exhaust is,
I could be wrong,
great work

Thanks for the comments chaps, I'll be drilling a hole for a grommet in the mounting plates for the wiring a water proof spade connectors will be accessible from underneath.
Is it common to remove the fuel tank cover for iva?

Im liking those a lot but be aware that during the IVA the inspector can ask you to remove any part of the car i.e the fuel tank cover. Will this cause a problem regarding the mounting and wiring of the lights? True but highly unlikely. Good work Nobby

I've only played with 1600s....gwnwar usually knows :-)

Very brief update Cut the angle for the rear light brackets and tacked on the mounting plate. Offered it up for general look before final welding. (It's not level in the picture because it's only mounted on the existing fuel tank cover bolt, will have another above soon which pulls in the mounting plate to bring it square) I'll be ordering the headlights from cbs this week, there is a note that says 'Lens gives flat dipped beam pattern which is MOT OK'. www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/5-complete-headlamp-satin-blackDoes this mean that the beam pattern is suitable for iva or not? Any help/advice would be much obliged. Cheers

Would the lights not look better as close as possible to the fuel cover. I think you have to be 300mm from outside edge of wheel

Very nice work on brackets I hadn't thought of that but I think the lamp unit should be high enough and far enough back to clear. Thanks for the heads up gwnwar. Would the lights not look better as close as possible to the fuel cover. I think you have to be 300mm from outside edge of wheel I think they would but I was trying to be a bit different with the design and I've been determined to use the Exo-skeletal-hatching in some fabrication for this build. I also will be mounting the fog and reverse on the fuel tank cover and need a minimum separation of 100mm. Do you take the measurements for lighting positions from the edge of the lamp units or the centre line? I've been going from the edge. Cheers

Didn't get round to dB checking the exhaust as the meter is down in Southampton but I did fire it up and I'm happy with the sound. It's loud but not totally anti-social.... I plan on doing the rear lights this month so I will be posting for electrical advice soon, (wigglies aren't my strongest). Has anyone used the multipin locking connectors from cbs? They look relatively professional but are there any other easy/better solutions? www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/multipin-locking-wiring-connectors-2-way-eachI also plan on starting the wheel refurbishment using a colour which will sink or swim......it's a match of volk racing's bronze.... Mate did you use the connectors?

Not in the end, I went for spade connectors with waterproof sleeves from CBS. Seem like decent quality but I will still heat shrink them post iva.

Not the centre line.
