I agree with Edwin..my seats are not padded and the ride is very good at the rear, 120 miles or a tank of fuel before stopping no problem. The wind blast in your face is the only discomfort I get so I have a screen to deflect the wind blast and the bugs over my head.

I find anything up to 40 MPH is fine with a pair of sunglasses, anything over or Motorway (freeway) driving is safest with a helmet.

Seebee70, The memory foam felt great. I don't think you will need to add any more to it.

Val, You should have your tR1ke by now. It's time to show a picture of you driving the tR1ke and having a 30cm smile on your face! Did you already make your first accidental 180 degrees spin?

The weather has not been cooperating here lately. When it was nice out & chores were done, I took it out & forgot the registration, so I turned back before being stopped by a curious officer. After tightening a few clamps, I went out today for a 9 mile ride to the auto parts store looking for a T35 torx bit. It was sweeet ! Getting familiar w/the throttle & clutch will take a bit more miles(of smiles)& I'm glad my feet aren't any larger, since the space between pedals is minimal. No accidental spins or wheelspin yet. My full face helmet collected a few bugs & I may look into a wind deflector. I've seen windscreens for bikes that have a curved lip at the top but that's not a high priority yet, There's a car/bike show in town this Saturday & I intend to show it off if weather permits. I don't need to spend the entry fee for a trophy & they may not have a class for it. Photos when the day is nice. Take care,,,,

The pics made it to the other post but the weather has curtailed any riding for the next few days at least. The link will show pics of my son & I on "the snake" but you must go to June 29th & choose trikes etc. It's a road over the mtn. that has many twisties & used by many enthusiastic riders/drivers. Needless to say we had a big grin on our faces. www.blindkenny.com/421pics.html

The good news is, the O-ring isn't leaking. The not so good news is that I'm not sure I've got all the air out of the lines & an old clamp moved & fluid sprayed on the back of my seat & elsewhere. This is an '05 motor & I'm asking y'all how to get the air out & keep the coolant moving ? Thanks for any & all advice.

Many of us installed a breather tank to let the remaining air from the pump, radiator and thermostat flow upwards outside the original circuit. On mine it worked like a charm but a few claim this is a not needed part. On the other hand, several had similar issues like you have and air trapped in the engine (poor cooling!) without the breather tank. Once installed it's a no brainer. Just fill her up and enjoy watching the cooling fluid level in the R1 reservoir going up and down when running and cooling down. it'll poop the air out by itself

Thanks Erik,,,,a link to the page the photo is on will almost complete the advice. As the saying goes, pics speak louder than words & it should show the correct hose to tap into.

You don't have any pictures of your cooling system on your build thread, it would help if you could draw a diagram of how your system is plumbed. I have a diagram of how mine is on page 8 on my build thread, your latter r1 is not the same but if you wanted to fit a header tank it will give you an idea on how to plumb it. I assume you don't currently have a header tank....I don't mean the original expansion tank next to the radiator as this is sometimes wrongly called a header tank. The header tank isn't absolutely necessary but its easy to keep a check on the coolant level and can be topped up without having to remove the radiator cap.

Ok Erik,,,that comment makes me think you're a teacher, since I used that same response when I helped others learn things they needed to learn. Well done.
