I will be at the AMM, but not in my TR1KE, I might twist your ARM for you to take me for a blast round in yours :-) I surprised how little time it took me to make the nosecone/bonnet fit, just 40 mins and its a lovely tight fit. The Wishbone bushes took much longer, and eventually I turned them on a lathe to get them in. Just got my tanks back from Powdercoat, they look lovely. Floor and bulkhead being done too.

Looking good! Don't want to ruin your plans, but it will be very hard to fit the nosecone with the gauges mounted...

Yeah, I've already thought about this :-) I don't intend to fit them till the dash is fitted. Was just testing them, won't be planning on removing the nose when its all on anyway, will be making all the cuts I need ahead of schedule of fitting, will make all things like this fit into quick release plugs. Cheers anyway :-)

After a quick call to RTR, and speaking to Luke, I have managed to make the knuckle fit the column (Cheers Luke) So just going to marry them both up with a combination of threaded bar / splined bar and some securing nuts and bolts and that takes care of the steering. Got the 11 way electrical multi plugs to extend the 37 wires on the R1 loom forward. I suspect this process may take me a full quiet day to achieve done in a controlled fashion testing as I go :-)
Floor has been Powdercoated and looks very smart, just waiting for the bulkhead to come back and then all these parts Powder Coated apart from the bulkhead can be fitted.
Think I may mount my handbrake lever on the right hand side, won't know for sure until I am at a point of fitting the seats.

Well its been a mental 9 days so far, not had chance to get anything done on my TR1KE, could have had loads more done, had my job not got in the way :-) Need to find a job that does not take up my day time :-) Looking forward to thrashing round a track this weekend with various kind Moggers, I won't be at AMM on Friday I think, just have so much on at work, think I will be there early doors Saturday and come away Sat afternoon and crack on with my TR1KE as I get into my quiet month of work, who knows, May see a vast progression over this next month. :-) I hope so.

School boy error in cutting gauges, knew I should have marked the dashboard first :-) hey Ho, a tidy Ali panel will fix it and I can try that one again, fuel tanks now fitted, floor riveted and nosecone altered to take my new headlamps. Steering column access hole cut and steering column loosely fitted.. pics to follow.

Just got a transparent template drawn up on my dash of the trim panel to use on the gauge mounts, maybe its a good thing as it will add strength to the gauge cutout. The R1 clock will fit nicely above my steering column. Gonna grab my seats tomorrow and see how they look in the vehicle. Think I can shoehorn the engine in from the front instead of underneath. Will be looking to assemble the front end tomorrow and make the cutouts on the lower body.

Load's more done this weekend, after a fantastic day at Curborough I came back with severe neck ache, if not whiplash putting my out of it for all Saturday and I was worried that I would be buggered for Sunday and indeed my day off Monday, however Sunday morning while still a bit sore I managed to fit the tanks and floor, and did the rest today, feel like a massive amount has been achieved today. All this has been done today .... Hoping to get the seat runners fitted tomorrow evening along with my dash panel to cover my cock up for my gauges, then I can recut the holes, this will help strengthen the mounting points for the gauges anyway, so never mind ;D Trapped my finger on the nosecone fitting this evening, its a very tight fit, thankfully it won't need removing when its fitted for good.

All alloy brake 7/16th bits ordered from Car Builder this morning to connect fluid pots to cylinders and a section of hose too. That will take care of that side of things, bracket being fabricated for my fluid pots. Water temp adaptor ordered along with various colours and sizes of heatshrink. Next job to mount radiator and see if my re-made taller and thinner tunnel will fit between my seats. Need to powder coat my grill, and have my dash panel being fabricated which is also going to be black, I can do these bits myself in my oven :-)
I also fitted my speedo yesterday, its in front of me not in the middle of the dash, I have also fitted 1 wind deflector, again not really central to the hump, its central to my seating position, as my seats are wider than the demo TR1KE.

Actually wished that the nosecone was in two parts with a separate dash to make it easier occasionally remove the nose to maintain the brake fluid and coolant.

I am amazed how hard it is to fit, however, I do like the fact its so tight I will never need to add any securing screws, its a pain to take on and off, but if im careful I am normally ok, its when I have someone watching it all goes wrong :-)
On the other hand I was thinking fitting it would have taken about a day based on my last build, but after a bit of thinking about it took less than an hour to get it fitted.
I need to turn my chassis round now so I can wotk on the rear, so that will be one of my next jobs before I start adding more weight.

Trim panel made for my gauge alterations, bracket made for the Brake Pots, and a slimmer taller tunnel made that sits nicely between my seats, may mount the handbrake in the centre now. Lots of room for pipes and wiring, cables etc:
