I went back to basics and checked all the wiring to the cluster, everything seemed ok. So I pulled out the cluster to see that the battery bulb was missing, so was the seat belt bulb. I moved the airbag bulb to the battery bulb and the battery bulb worked and so did the fog light. It took me a week to get this point!!!!!! Wondering why there are bulbs missing from my cluster and I cant find how to get replacements from a quick check on the internet. Also maybe missing bulbs effect the circuitry on the cluster. Main beam light is still not coming on. Any ideas on where to get cluster bulb seems to be no quick fix on the internet. If I cannot get main beam indicator to work I will try to wire something myself. Moral of the story, don't be an idiot, check the basics first

I am trying to fit up my seat belts, however they have an explosive pretensioner device fitted, which means they do not fit up correctly. I can probably get around this by using longer bolts and spacers.
However I read on this forum that explosive pretentioner devices would fail the IVA, but I cannot find anywhere in the inspection manual that says this. I would prefer to use the originals, keeping cost in mind.
Does anyone have experience with this or provide some guidance as to whether they are acceptable or not?

Anyone know the answer about the seat belt? I manged to turn the belt in its slider and fits perfectly now.

Hi, I have the same exhaust but am having trouble getting it under 99db at 4700rm for the IVA, it runs about 115db with no baffle - have you got the same issue? I've tried a baffle but can't (convincingly) get the DB's low enough!!!

Morgan I have not test the exhaust yet, its on the IVA TTD list, I was hoping you was going to solve the problem to be honest.

I couldn’t work out how to get a baffle secured into the muffler as the exhaust tip is too long and the edge is rolled inwards, making the diameter too small to slide a tight fitting baffle down the pipe into the muffler. My plan now is to chop off (a bit of) the tip, fit a baffle and see if that quietens it down enough. If it does, I’ll bolt on a new (angled) tip. If it still too loud, I’m going to find (2nd hand eBay) a motorbike exhaust can and put that on (with a baffle) instead.

Just passed the emissions test, I feel like a proud dad!
The mechanic asked what they test the car too, I has assumed that it was the Mx5 standard, is this the case?

Car was way too low, bought these they work a treat. Says they are not suitable for coilovers but work for the ones I have. www.jassperformance.com/shop/RUBBER_SPACERSReady for IVA now my only concern is the explosive tensioners which are still fitted to the seatbelts.

lots of bits to sort unless those pics above are not up to date. Interior mirror. Wing mirrors. Rare reflectors. Bolts on exhaust need to be min 2.5 mm radius. Bottom edge of height adjustment nuts on shocks. Looks like lots of nuts need caps. Side of pedals need a blanking triangle made from off cut of PVC or similar. Does your speedo back light work?

Stuart, thanks for that the pictures are old and a most of these jobs are done. I will take you advice on the seat belts and post some pictures when everything is done and ready for IVA.
