The response from CX Racing was simply "not sure", therefore not worth the risk of buying from the US with the difference in emmission laws...
I'm only gonna change the brakes as & when they wear out...

Then to work on the exhaust downpipe removal, nuts all off the studs Off with the power steering pump bracket and downpipe.... Has anyone plug the heater system at the point shown? I thought an O Ring plug my do the trick, rather than creating a water circuit? Here's my Mk 2.5 1.8i exhaust removed (minus heatshield) To the non expert eye, its fabricated and looks free flowing...

Some work has been done on the back end, which where the frustration has started. Decided to remove the ABS sensors as a precuation (damage), the mounting bracket bolt heads sheared off...(and one rounded on the O/S) and the anti-rollbar nut on the O/S won't come un-done (suggestions please?) and with a lack of cirlclip pliers, no chance of splitting the drive shaft, and with no mallet, no chance of disloding the lower wishbone pivot bolt... and the propshaft bolts wont come undone either...other than that a productive few hours.

my lower wishbone bolts were a nightmare on one side! i cleaned and grinded/wire brushed them as smooth as possible before hammering the life out of it with little success. ended up cutting it into pieces and hammering what was left out under heat and plenty of lube. replacement bolts are about £4 on autolink! in ref to the heater pipes, my mechanic suggested its slightly better water flow if you loop them. i retained the orignal metal tube coming from where you circled and bought some hose from ebay for £5 and looped it. any tough bolts soak over night in penetrating oil (vinegar works well if you dont have PO and use a nice long handle on your ratchet. breaker bars are cheap and well worth every penny. it undid every nut i pointed it at!! The only suggestion I have for stubborn fasteners, is penetrating oil and patience. I have rounded many a nut or sheared off bolts due to impatience.WD40 is good, I have tried other similar products, but I think it works better.Leaving overnight always makes things easier, this is where the patience comes in. on the anti rol bar link nut you could try some nut splitters like www.abbeypowertools.co.uk/subprod/nut-splitters-0002049.aspx or just cut the nut off and replace the link as its about £16 from MX5parts ive had to cut a few bolts like the bottom out rear wishbone bolts on both side and i snapped the heads off 3 of the rear adjuster bolts

Plus Gas works better than WD40 i find.
230V Leccy impact gun from machine mart for £60 is a good tool to have. I use mine for removing crankshaft pulley bolts and the like and they whizz clean off.

Ii found VHT paint to be a pain in the a**e as its powdered and doesnt set unless very high temperature is applied (hence the name obviously!) it rubs off on hands and most things that come into contact with it until its set. my mechanic says its only really needed on the manifold and exhaust, as the rest of the engine and drivetrain wont go above 85-80 degrees. Halfords aerosols and hammerite can more than handle these temps. we neatened up the engine with halfords sprays and lacquer, and the gearbox and drive with hammerite, Ive had the engine up to full temp quite a bit lately, no issues to report. nice bits from ebay!!

Alex, Thanks for the paint info. Tim
Some people may think we were mad buying such a new donor car, but the logic was to enable ease of dis-assembly for a 13yr old. To give an idea of prices you can command for selling a 2004 MX-5 Euphonic Mk2.5 on ebay, here are the sold prices achieved on ebay (note this excludes ebay, paypal, p&p costs). Also, the Euphonic does has many desirable parts for MX-5 fans.
Front Bumper Reinforcement N/S £19 Wind Breaker £80 Heater Controls £25 Mud Splash Guards Rear £40 Electric Window Plug £10 Carbon Dashboard Trim £25 Car Mats £21.50 Door Cards Pair £80 Leather Heated Seats £450 Key Fob £12 Air Bag O/S £125 Roof £300 Roof Catch N/S £24 Roof Catch O/S £24 Suspension X Brace £50 Electric Window Switch £40 Electric Mirror Switch £12 1/4 Panel Trim N/S £20 Light OS/R £50 Light NS/R £50 Number Plate Light £18 Number Plate Light £18 Light FN/S £70 Front Air Intake £40 Kick Strip O/S £27 Kick Strip N/S £27 Wing N/S £75 Wing O/S £70 Bonnet £132 Electric Aerial £65
From purchase of the donor on 12th November, 2011 during MX-5 'off season', we have recovered the purchase price of the car...any parts sold from now will hep reduce the kit purchase & build, and there are plenty of parts to go...
