Lots of information on the Mk1 Cup Holder but couldn't find the information on the fiddly bits, like the MX-5 Mk2 Cup Holder removal. 5 screws hold the unit in place, took out the side screws, no problems... Then took out screws in storage box.... Then carefully with a thin blade, prise the electric window switch at the outter edge to reveal screw number 5.

Looks like you two are making great progress. I'm excited to see the differences in the MK1 and MK2 builds. ...am wondering about powder coating everything else red, with a few items in black (i.e pass over black box plastic parts)....? Are you planning on powder coating the suspension pieces too?

Plan to strip & powder coat the chassis, probably go black, as I have red bushes, then chassis red, and bodywork white. What do you think? I was wondering if I had the wish bones & linkage red to complement the chassis? Heater controls, dashboard, heater unit came out, along with steering wheel and pedal box. Master cylinder, various brackets and engine brace out. I assume the engine brace (that was mounted across suspension structs) can not be used on the Exocet?

Dash board electrics finally all removed, removal of the ECU behind the passenger footplate, just bent the plate back... Joseph brough friends to help, Dan striiping the N/S door, Rory removing harness & Joseph applying WD-40... Just about to drop the front end, there is a cross stiffener & propshaft/exhaust guards on the underside that need removal...

Has any one considered mofiying the chassis pre-powder coat to include brackets for radiator mounting top & bottom, ABS mounting, radiator expansion bottle, fuse box, wiring harness mountings, etc ?
For wiring harness just thining of welding various tabs out of sight, with a hole in.
Does any one have dimensions, or pictures, etc?

Collected engine hoist from my brother, Richard's garage....advert time.... [BARBY GARAGE, Nr RUGBY, WARWICKSHIRE, 01788 890770]... assembled engine hoist and we split the body this evening, in the garage.... Then dragged the body out.... In hind sight wheeling out the whole car, splitting and rolling the chassis back in would have been simpler...but we got caught up in the excitement of the moment... Next job, dis-mantle the chassis...but Christmas may get in the way
