Did some more trouble shooting. Reconnected the airbox and plugged in the 1.6 AFM. Previously all starts was done without the AFM in place. With AFM connected: Turn the key 1 click before attempting to start, and immediate I hear a whiring noise from the fuel pump area. Hmm. Never did that before. Tries to start, the car immediately dies or struggle very hard at 100-400 RPM for a few seconds and then dies. CEL turns off. Without AFM ( my normal start procedure so far ): Turnt he key 1 click .. no noise from gas pump. Tries to start, the car runs for about 30 seconds while fluctuating idle a bit, then idle creeps up and engine dies. CEL stays on. --------------------------------- Sanity check .. The first GREEN labelled fuel line goes out the tank into to the fuel filter's side connector. The second GREEN labelled fuel line goes out the fuel filter's top connector to the connector in the fuel rail in the middle of the manifold. The RED labelled fuel line is the return line that from the tank to the pressure regulator. Is that correct ?

That should be correct, the line you have with green is the fuel feed, the red is the return. The feed should connect to the fuel rail at the front, the return should come off the FPR.
You should make sure that you have your flow through the fuel filter correct but you probably do.
I would check for any disconnected vacuum lines on the manifold and that your idle air valve is connected.

Hmm .. idle air valve .. what's that ? OHHHH .. you mean this hose that's missing on my car ? Just pilfered one for my other donor Miata and yuuppp .. fixed the issue. I seriously owe you a few brews Sean. Ran for a full minute with no fluctuation with the AFM connected and CEL gone. Its like a normal car .. almost ..

So I kinda messed up wiring a lil bit .. anyone know where to find a color wiring chart for 93 ? I'm going blind looking at the black and white one.

Thnx Gwnwar. Wishful thinking I supposed. Could have sworn I seen it in color somewhere online. Perhaps for another year.
Anyways, I went a bit overboard with trimming out unconnected plugs and 'unnecessary' wires. The car didn't start ( fuel pump stopped priming ) after I removed some wires near the headlight motor. Luckily I labelled everything ( on both ends ) before each cut just in case, so I was able to restore it. However now the car immediately jump to warm up / idle at ~2k rpm. I didn't want to run it longer than a minute in case there's issues I missed, so I turned it off. Trying to use the wiring diagram to locate the unused connector that I removed to see what its purpose was why headlight stuff would stop the fuel pump from functioning.
Good news though is I was able to sort out the brake lights using the trailer relay. Sooooo close to being road ready!!

Thanks! I knew I saw a colored diagram somewhere! Unfortunately their NA wiring diagram seems to be down for me right now. Will check again later.

So my temporary headlights arrived today. Its a simple 18W LED 'fog' light that's pretty bright ( 1260LM ) but no high / low beam The wiring seems pretty simple. Red 12V wire + black ground wire. Looking at this diagram .. I'm thinking red 12V on the new light goes to the red/blk ( low beam ) wire and obviously black goes black. I won't have time to get into the garage to play with this today so am hoping someone can confirm for me if this will work or if I'm 'missing something'. Maybe I need a fuse or something in there for extra safety / ect.

Thanks! I knew I saw a colored diagram somewhere! Unfortunately it doesn't seem to have it for my year. Oh wells. I have all of the wiring diagrams for every year of the NA and NB body cars...and every diagram I have before 1994 is in black and white, unfortunately. :/

Yes for a NA the black is ground and R/W ans R/B feed power from combo switch.. BUT on a '99+ The power comes from the headlight relay through 2 fuses to the lamps R/Y and G wires and the R and W wires ground the lamps through the combo switch..

Thnks Gwnwar.
Just noticed something today. My rear blinker after I hooked up the trailer relay .. it works .. the left / right signal blinks. But when one side blinks, it seems to draw too much power or something and the other side dim.
So when I signal left, the left blinks and the right dim in and out. It doesn't turn off just dim. Its almost like I'm signaling opposite directions at the same time.
Both directions the signals are blinking really fast without the front lights in. Hyper blinking.
I then connected all the front lights in to test.
Each side of my car has 2 turn signal. The clear one ( fog light ? ) in the front of the bumper and the orange turn signal on the side.
For LEFT turn, the clear fog light blinks, the orange turn signal does not. When the fog light is install and blinks as well, the left rear signal stop hyper blinking.
For RIGHT turn, neither front fog or orange turn signals blinks. The right rear signal continues to hyper blink.
All light turns ON ! Just doesn't blink.
The fog light and turn signal both only have a red / black and black wire going to it. I traced the wire and I didn't accidentally snip any of those wires.
Urg .. What do you guys think it could be ?

Edit .. NVM .. wow .. it was a bad bulb. Switched bulb after tracing more wires and the left side suddenly worked. Kinda crazy because the fuse inside the bad bulb looks to be intact. Going to buy some new bulbs in a bit.
Only one remaining lighting issue ( I hope ) I have to figure out before hacking in the front LED.
Why is it that when I signal one direction ( both left or right ), the opposite rear turn signal dim on and off almost like its blinking / signaling as well !
