Had another busy day today treaded the prop shaft to a wire brush and a lick of paint.
Then started on the diff, I tried to get the driveshafts out but I gave up and cleaned them as one. Used the rust protection paint from lidl at 3 quid a can it has excellent coverage and a tidy finish.
Now most of the big bits are done its time to start on the bucket of smalll things, luckily ive got a new toy (the cabinet not the boss) to help, had a right bargain from ebay £61 delivered.
Had a go at the upper wishbone came up pretty good.

Looks a good result, did you mask the ball joint? Getting grit in it isn't a great idea.

Had a great day out at llandow yesterday thanks to Chris and Derek even with the black flag lol, Got my first ride in an exocet. Anyway got home feeling inspired and pulled out the shot blaster. Cleaned the caliper carriers and painted them with lidls best. . "4 caliper carriers hanging on a rod, 4 caliper carriers hanging on a rod" Yeap you guessed it when I moved it they all fell off. All fixed now though. Next week time to clean the uprights and press the new upper balljoints in.

Been busy over the last few weeks but yesterday we hit a bit of a milestone. We finished all the blasting, grinding and painting .
Even got a visit of Darth Vader
So now everything was painted, decided to have a go at the timing belt. Never done one before but read plenty of threads/guides and im pretty sure we've got it right (even if it was second time around after refitting the old belt by mistake oops).
Pretty happy with how it turned out. All the grinding and blasting almost seems worth it now. Next Job is to press in the IL Motorsport bushes. (Spot the deliberate mistake, Thermostat housing is 180 out)
Fixed Now Lol.

Valve cover looks good.. Did you take apart the breather unit on the under side of the cover after blasting it..

Thanks, it's not brilliant but ok for a first attempt. I didn't blast the cover, just used some good old elbow grease and some wet and dry. Read some horror stories of people finding grit years after so didn't fancy that.

So I've just ordered my new rad from japspeed and some shiny hoses from freaky parts. During the strip I thought I had religiously labelled everything, well the fairy have been in the garage and taken some labels off.
Am I right in thinking this is part of the charcoal canister system?
Do I just need to blank all three pipes off?
Sorry it's a 1.8 mk2
Thanks in advance.
