...still at it.....only been able to work intermittently over last 6 months.
Re: guard mounts, had some trouble getting rear driver side hub nit off. 32mm rear, 31 mm front, annoyingly, as this required two separate ebay purchases of suitable socket. Frustration factor increased when I had to use about 2100nm of torque (70kg of me hanging off a 3m long steel section) to try and get the bugger off, resulting in shearing the male end off my $200 torque wrench....back to ebay to buy a new 3/4" wrench and 3rd socket. Short of buying air tool, tried all the tricks in the book / you tube but still would not budge. A lot of swearing. Decided to drill it off.....

anyway, got guards on and wing mirrors. Now need clutch and brake bleed and electrical tidy up with view to starting on rego process. Had a disappointing $500 'interview' with prospective compliance engineer who wanted to see calculations and test data for seat harness mounts (by inspection they are well over-engineered !!) and wanted crush tubes installed inside the square section in seat rail mounts. His estimate was $8k for compliance process - I think I'll go elsewhere but am a bit concerned this will turn out to be a lot more than I bargained for.
I am wondering if MEV in UK or Exocet in USA has downloadable frame / weld specifications, chassis torsion/beaming data, seatbelt harness mounts and/or shop drawings which I can wave around to demonstrate a level of engineering has gone into the stock frame ?
