It's not used. Exomotive has a 'sandwich plate' that goes around the frame tube for tunnel mounted transmissions. Call them and inquire. It's the unpainted piece, here.

Haven't posted in a while. Anyways, the engine is out and the Mode of failure: Oil rings setup incorrectly on (at least the) one cylinder, oil ring shredded/came apart, falls into pan. Car smokes some. No seal on that cylinder (evidenced by no solid fire ring) as a result. Oil ring piece is small enough to fit through pickup screen. Oil ring piece make it into oil pump gerotor. Gerotor smashes oil ring piece between two sides of gerotor. Obviously steel ring wont compress, oil pump explodes. It's on its way back to the builder for fix under warranty. I'm guessing someone set up the clearances wrong, because a lot of the cylinders showed scuffing at the piston. Anywho, got in some spherical ended uppers in the rear to match my front ones from V8R, going to hopefully swing some billet rod ended lowers this year sometime. Current goal is to get the replacement engine back in the car by mid march to make the first event of the season, if the builder can turn it around in time. We shall see. Also, pulled it out the bottom this time. Much faster/less painful then out the top.

Small update: New engine is here and put together. Got the oil pan and F/R covers on and it's ready to go back in - just need a pilot bearing for the trans (DOH), which should be here Thursday. New guy is forged, so we shouldn't have any more breakage problems. Going back to the tuner tuesday to re-verify the tune, since I did change a few things since the last one. On another note, I replaced my cheapo motorcycle mirrors with some appropriate APR jobs. Like these much better. The only last unrelated to the engine project before it rolls is to add turn signals to the upper side panels. I have some LEDs I'm going to try. Will post how that works out.

I've grown tired of putting things in two places, most current and future updates can be found on the car's facebook page since it's just easier to maintain. www.facebook.com/lsxocet/

just a quick question ,, i have a eco-evo that has a problem ,, the track rods on both sides touch the tops of the lower wishbone when unloaded , they rub , ie when i am not sat in it , when i am on board there is about four mm of clearance and the steering is free and works well , when in motion any bumps would be in an upwards direction thus making the gap larger but on the way back down again it must foul the track rods , would this be of any harm to the steering , its beginning to hack me off , over to you lads .
