Another good AutoX result, second place out of 51 drivers, on a very fast course where I was totally out of gear. I went ahead and ordered that 3.23 rearend to get the extra mph, this won't ever happen again - sitting on the limiter half the course is no fun. Finished only 8 hundredths behind the winner, my good friend in his FM car - we're always very competitive with each other. I'll get him next event www.salinascca.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/RESULTS-9-11.pdfAlso have been putting off hood fitment, but uh, it literally fit like a glove using the nosecone mounts Had to trim the oil dipstick a little, and will relocate the headlights rearwards about a foot on the tube to make it easier to drop into place. Once the set of hoodpins I ordered shows up I'll get them setup and drill the front to bolt into the same mount as the nosecone, and it will be done. Very very very very very happy it was so simple.

Also, it needs something. Stickers, or a gumball number, or a stripe, something. Maybe some spears like FM put on their ND.

From the looks of it, your hood fits better with your v8 than it does with my 1.8... I agree, the hood is like a canvas and definitely needs something on it. But it is looking very good!

MM vent tank/catch can. To alleviate pressure in the top end I was having sitting over 6k rpm continuously. Niece piece.

Think you need to be looking at some steel trailer fenders to cover those tires.. Or cut in half and add a center section to what you have now.. How wide are the tires..

Are you running any latch's at the front or just the rear hood pins?

Think you need to be looking at some steel trailer fenders to cover those tires.. Or cut in half and add a center section to what you have now.. How wide are the tires.. 12.5" or so. We are thinking about adding 2-3" of glass to the center of the fenders. Papabear the front is bolted on either side, if you look closely you can see the bolt.

11pm rearend session getting ready for tomorrow's autox. Swapping down to the 3.23 rear I've been talking about for a while now, gains me 5mph in second gear and will make first usable. Threw in some fresh axle seals for good measure. Love that these LSD diffs are only ~$200 on ebay, can keep spares and ratios to swap around without breaking the bank. Cleaned up a couple areas, adjusted one fender and aired up the tires and we're ready to go by 2am.

There are only two events left in this season's autox calendar, though I may make a third event in a different region. This winter's offseason projects are to make a functional and EM legal front splitter and rear spoiler.

Lost a rear brake line today, pedal went to floor right after first run started. Must have nicked it or something doing the diff. Waste of a day, dig into it this week. The ratio change was positive, if nothing else. Felt good. First gear usable again.

With the loss of rear brakes did the fronts do anything? I presume there's a balance system installed which, if you believe the press, should leave the front fully active.

Not really. The car slowed, but not very quickly. Pedal went to the floor, etc.
