It's going behind. There isn't space in front. Production cars are designed around a low speed window, low frontal opening, and low airflow. NASCAR puts them behind the radiator, for instance. Surprised about the amount of pushback, but 10 degree warmer air from the radiator isn't going to make a difference. No issue from me, just wanted to ensure it had been thought through; which it appears to have been.

All good The brackets should be here tomorrow, and I can get it all fabbed up. Going to turn it 90* so the fill and return are on the outside of the frame, and can be easily routed the the oil thermostat.

Few dumb things done by the engine builder, requiring a short pause while I remedy them. Do have the cam and lifters and timing chain in. Have to adjust the pickup and oil pan slightly to fit the new windage setup (tomorrow). Will also get heads on and measure for pushrods.

Engine is back together. Time to mate it to the clutch/trans and really get to work.

Progress. Put the engine/trans in as one unit, seemed the easiest way. #swearitwaseasierthefirstime

Fun fact, the header won't slip in with the driver's head on, with head studs.
lol.

Last piece of the oil puzzle. 7.200" 11/32 .120 wall custom oil restricted pushrods by manton. Shown next to a standard 7.300" 5/16 .080 comp pushrod. Chugging along, this should be back running by this weekend. Not much left to do now but build the oil lines

Final oil line routing. Just wasn't room between header and engine. They're nice and out away from any heat sources, at least. Will see how the nylon lines hold up. If they show a lot of wear quickly, will switch to steel. Ready to crank over, minus a dead battery. It's on the charger, will jump it in a few.

Good to see it come back together. The nylon lines are nice for not being flexible files that need to be super secure or covered to avoid damaging anything they touch.

I've used them before, just never externally like this. -10 lines are pretty big.
Also, it runs and makes good oil pressure. Got to button up the exhaust and get the coolant leveled off, as well as reinstall the steering shaft and we'll be good to go.
