Great progress again john! Have you gone on your first drive yet? Not yet, finishing up the shock spacers and fender supports first. Then a test drive. soon!

Have you started the registration process in Florida yet? I went to the DMV on Friday and found out that I need hood and fenders to register here. Also, I have to photo document all parts that did not come from the Miata and attach copies of photos with all receipts in order to start the process of getting a VIN. Basically, I need a book documenting the build. Wish I had known that back in August when I started. Thankfully, I do have all my receipts. According to Taylor at Exomotive, I'm body 47 so hopefully will get a call in a couple of weeks that the bodywork is one its way. Since everything is done otherwise, I guess I have time to put the book together waiting on the body panels.

That is one of the troubles of living in the Florida Keys. Florida is pretty straightforward They think this is just another dune buggy. Whatever makes them happy.

John I see you are also located in FL. I’m looking for a local Exocet frame at a decent price. Do you happen to know anyone who’s looking to clear up some garage space? Sorry would not let me message you directly.

Sorry would not let me message you directly. I don't know of anyone who has an unfinished exocet that wants to sell it. Are you wanting one and not willing to wait to have a frame built by Exomotive?

Wait time and hoping for a better price if I can find someone who does not want to complete the build.

I highly doubt you'd get a discount on an incomplete build, if anything it may come at a premium due to the reduced wait time. These things are popular and low production so far. If you're seriously interested, I'd recommend biting the bullet, putting down your deposit, and waiting it out.

If I remember correctly you kept the cruise control on your car. Do you have a picture of how you mounted the actuator? I thought I remembered seeing it onetime, but I went through your build log and can't find it now. Thanks!

I will try to take a picture and post it for you. I made a bracket that holds it to the drivers shock support.

Thanks. I can't seem to find a good spot in the engine bay to mount it with the header and air intake I have. I woke up in the middle of the night with the idea to mount it under the wiring tray and run the cable out the steering column hole and then back through the firewall to the pedal. I haven't tried it yet but it looks like it will work. I was on the fence about mounting it at all but most of the roads around her are dead straight and my knees do not like to be stuck in one position for very long.

John, what fasteners did you use up towards the nose? I need to redo my front fasteners as I'm not too happy with how difficult it is to get them situated when putting on/removing the hood.

I was on the fence about mounting it at all but most of the roads around her are dead straight and my knees do not like to be stuck in one position for very long. The biggest pain I had mounting the cruise control is to get the bushing hole cut correctly. And for the knee sore thing that is why I mounted a leg brace to my chair. Don't get me started about straight roads, lol. I have a 16 mile commute to work with 2 lefts and 1 right. By the way the turns are to get on and off the highway. Here is a picture of how I mounted my cruise control. It is just a bracket made from flat bar stock.

Thanks for the picture. I will see if something similar will work in my setup.
