Ok time for some pictures at long last! A Eunos Roadster (You've all senn an MX-5 before)! Later on in the strip down, body removed with no problem by 5 Big(ish) Navy lads Cheers guys! Front subframe painted up, all engine hoses will be replaced just left them there at the time! Rear subframe didnt come out as well but i didnt want to go down the blasting and powedrcoat route Steering rack painted, gaitors have been replaced since pic taken and new track rod ends also Starting to look better, sorry about the messy garage! Two snapped bolts dealt with with a blob of weld on top and a pair of grips, one was on the crank pulley (was like it when I found it) the other was holding the gear lever iner boot on (that was my fault)! New radiator from MX5 Heaven! To be fair they were very apologetic and a replacement is on its way Half a day replacing the timing belt, water pump and cam cover gasket Finally something that looks nice and new not old and rusty! The great thing about a 6 meter long garage is both parts fit in easily until I'm ready! Note my other love in the background not happy with what has taken it's dry garage space! Beautiful green is an almost exact match of my spare bedrooms! LOL Where I'm currently at is waiting for wishbones to come back, then I'll be getting set to mate the two halves!

Cant quite see properly but when changing the belt the lobes on the cams should be pointing to 3 oclock and 9 oclock so that you are at tdc. Just make sure you turn it over a couple of times by hand and ensure all the marks line up on pulleys and crank. Also inspect the cam seals and ensure they are not leaking

Yeah they were lined up fine, have her a few spins to make sure things were all good, no leaks either!
I was hoping to get the floor in this weekend, but it seems other commitments have been arranged for me by 'her'!

Ok couple of hours in the garage and managed to fit one of the floors, annoyingly due to a late start, and not bring prepared (drill batteries not fully charged) didn't get the other one fitted!

The original wishbones from the donor were too bad to re use, so instead of buying replacements I found a guy who was a expert in building auto grass cars and he was happy to produce these! Benefits are a reasonable weight reduction, rose joints on rear for easily adjustable tracking, great look as appose to big chunky flat bits of metal, and the dimensions are a perfect match so nothing to worry about just a direct replacement! The new bushes I bought will fit perfect! Total cost £200 just need to get then powder coated!

Wow they look fantastic. I have a feeling your guy might be busy producing a whole load of those for lots of other builders! Have you had a chance to weigh then?it would be really interesting to see the weight saving.
