Failed unfortunately. Only a couple of things though:
Emissions, the lambda reading is too high. The other readings are fine though. I called Omex when I was at the test and they sent me a slightly altered map but the reading was still too high.
Rear brake force not high enough - it was 4% below the requirement. I think the balance bar may need adjusting for this.
The other thing was no manufacturer plate. I have not heard of anyone else mentioning this. The inspector showed me the requirement in the manual though.
Any ideas on the emissions problem?
Cheers
Stew

Was it a new or donor engine?

It was a donor

Might just need a thorough service/clean up as per an mot failure then...

I think I have found the emissions problem after a bit of internet searching. It seems the lambda sensor senses oxygen and this can be caused by small leaks in the exhaust system. I did some checks using this clever idea - www.instructables.com/id/Find-an-exhaust-leak-without-burning-your-hands/And found a leak at the back of the exhaust back box and I think this must be the problem. It is not enough to be able to see anything blowing out of it but I can definitely hear it

If other readings ok then could be slight exhaust leak allowing air into exhaust system, known that many times on MOT's

I have sealed everywhere I can on the exhaust and I can not hear any leaks but the lambda is still too high as confirmed when I took it to a local garage. Everything I read though still says it would point to a leak. I am going to strip the whole lot now and put a new manifold gasket on and some sealant around the join between the cat and the manifold. Weirdly since I sealed the leak that I found the lambda reading from the garage was higher than the one on the IVA test.

Have you checked the O2 Sensor? If that is faulty it would give the ECU the wrong information to feed the engine...same for the MAF.

I have not checked the sensor but it is new as I bought it with the ECU (Omex). Maybe I should ask them what I need to do to test it is working correctly. It is running without a MAF sensor.
