Fitted part of the tunnel this weekend. I bolted some aluminium angle to the floor as others have done Cut out slots for the gear lever and handbrake, covered it and screwed to the angle. I know it has to come back out to run brake lines and electrics. Next job was to cut the engine cover as I am thinking of fitting the engine soon. Cutting was not difficult with an angle grinder but getting it onto the chassis was hard and I am not sure it will be possible with the engine in place I am not sure how to fix down the engine cover as there are no obvious areas where the cover has a part of the chassis directly behind it that I can bolt to. I have looked at other builds but cannot see how others have fixed theirs. Can anyone let me know the best way?

I fitted 2 x 1mm thick angle alloy at the front, of which the cover sat on. The rear cover mounting was drilled into the diagonal tubes, from inside the cover, and fixed to the tubes with tapped threads.
Space the cover to tubes with rubber or plastic shims to minimise distortion when the opening section is fitted.

The front brakes finally arrived so I fitted them. The inner brake pad on both sides is quite tight even though the caliper looks to be exactly central with the disc. Hopefully this will wear in over time I fitted the wingstays and propped the wing on top to have a look. My phone camera makes it look a very light orange when it is actually a dark 'burnt orange' colour really Wheels have now been ordered so hopefully the engine will be in soon!

I think you'll find that people running the wider tyres have the flat shape wings. The bevel ones you have do have a limit to what you can fit and still get the wheel on and off wIthout having to remove the wing every time.
I have the bevel ones, I have 17/205's. Its tight getting the wheel off and on. If you raise the wing higher to make the wheel fit it can look a bit naff and allows more air under the wing.

The Rocket took a little trip out of the garage this weekend so I could turn it round. I was surprised how low it is once I dropped it down from the axle stands. I also connected the brakes up. My local motorsport centre suggested some connectors for the low pressure side of the brakes that screw straight in to the master cylinders rather than banjo connections. I think these are ok but I will need to fix down the pipework to ensure it is below the reservoir. Does anyone think this will be a problem? In the picture I am holding the pipes down Also, my brake pipes go directly into the calipers. I have seen some pictures where a cable tie is used with a small piece of pipe to keep the brakeline neat but when I have tried it the brakeline seems to move a lot when steering and not in a very neat way. Is there a chance of the pipe kinking once it is full of fluid?

Can't see the pics correctly on my phone. But if the pipe it coming out vertically, it's a fail mate, needs to be horizontal I'm led to believe

I believe the hoses from the cylinders need to be below the exit level of the Fluid res, as it's only really gravity fed.
The fluid could struggle to flow into the brake cylinder.

Managed to get the engine in today I did a bit of head scratching for a while until I realised that you need to connect up the rear mount first. After that it was not too hard. And it ended up dead level
