Hello from a slightly cloudy Dorset. After a good battle with the bearings in the rear tyre they finally came out and so the wheels has gone for painting. I've also put a few more things onto ebay for selling. I do have some pictures but not quite sure how to insert them. Does anyone know how? They are on my PC.
The garage is almost ready so a few more trips to the tip should have it clear I just need the kit. Early September seems to be the magic date. Also started to list all the things I've brought and sold, thanks getting a bit scary!

Ok, to insert pics on here, you need to first of all create a Photobucket account and upload your pics to there, then once uploaded you need to copy the Direct Link.
Once this is done you click on Reply on this thread, or in the For Sale section, click on Create Thread, type the description in the black box, you will notice there are two Orange tabs at the bottom of the black or dark grey box, these say Preview and BBCode.
The Preview tab lets you view the advert as it will be when you click the right grey button saying Create Post The BBCode tab is showing you the HTML coding for the advert or anything you paste into this box.
To add a picture navigate onto the toolbar where the far right icon is a Smiley face, click on the 3rd icon from the left, it will open a box saying http://
Delete this and right click and paste the shortcut you copied from Photo Bucket. Now click on the Grey Button saying INSERT IMAGE
Now click on the Preview tab at the bottom, to see if looks correct. Once happy click on Create Post.

Evening, Many thanks for the details I'll try and sort that out and so get some pictures in this thread soon. Next thing I need to do is get the garage clear and get all my bits in one place. As I was taking the rear tyre out I've gone for new chain and sprockets, new bearings and new cush drive. Also the ignition switch was a bit tricky, there was no obvious sign of a screw driver or similar being used so thought I'd get a new new. It was just a plug and play and tried it this weekend and it works well. Having fun and I don't even have the kit yet

Might I suggest a new T-stat, unless you've tested the one that came in the bike. My '05 T-stat didn't open as the new one did during testing on the kitchen stove. Cheap insurance, like the other parts you've bought.

Thanks for the advice, I'll check to see if it's ok.
Is there anything else anybody out there would suggest I change whilst I have the chance?

My advice is to have fun while building it.

Right if all goes whell these should be the first pictures of the R1 when I got it home and as it is today. Hopefully I'll get the swing arm off today so it can go for powder coating. Doh! just seen another set of bearings I'll have to deal with! <img width="917" height="17" style="width: 917px; height: 53px; max-width: 100%;" alt=' ' src="http:///"> <a href="http://s1334.photobucket.com/user/rpatothestars/media/R1goingintobits_zpsd4f5e335.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1334.photobucket.com/albums/w641/rpatothestars/R1goingintobits_zpsd4f5e335.jpg" border="0" alt="R1 now photo R1goingintobits_zpsd4f5e335.jpg"/></a>

It was just a plug and play and tried it this weekend and it works well. Having fun and I don't even have the kit yet My ignition switch was blocked. No way to turn the key. After placing the R1 parts ads I got several calls from r1 owners to buy my switch. They all seemed to deal with the same issue. Personally I think water might be a reason of failure on mine and placed my switch in the tunnel above the rad hoses to warm it up and protect from direct rain. The new switch works like a sharm on that place and has been MVSA approved. Nice R1. Should break ones heart to rip her apart lOL!! In my exell sheet I made an adds column and parts sold column. You'd be suprised by the value of ads you can make without selling the parts you need. Getting even is not easy but I stranded to 800euro for the drive system for 6 months right now which is pretty neat IMO. good luck! Erik

Btw, enter REPLY button, ADD ATTACHEMENTS,ADD FILES (from your own HD) and DONE is the easiest way to post pics. I'm not using photobucket anymore. Just too time consuming.

Hello All, Well the swing arm is now out and the bike is looking a bit sad now. I was wondering if I need to take the exhaust off to fit it into the frame or can I leave it on. Also when I took the bearings out of the swingarm I didn't notice that they were two sizes. I only noticed when I got the replacement So leanrt to take more pictures but can anyone tell me which side the larger bearing goes into. The swingarm is off to the powder coaters so I can't look to see if it is obvious. Thanks in advance. Bob Kit only a few weeks away

Hi Bob, You'll need to remove all the pipe work to fit the engine to in the chasis. Now you'll have a great start to clean the front of the engine and brush the pipework. Removing the airbox helps a bit as well to raise the chasis a few less inches. I cannot comment on the bearings but it does make sense to place the bigger bearings to the sprocket side.

Hi, yep I can confirm the wider bearing goes on the sprocket side :-)
