So have now finished the top padded section for the seat, complete with some embroidery. Velcro'd in position. Finishes off the seat nicely.

The greatest picture of an Exocet I've ever seen. Is that the v2 Exocet and what color combination is that exactly? Regards Tom

With the G/box done this free'd up the engine stand. So inlet manifold off, alternator off and I though I was all ready to lift the engine on to the stand. However, not as simple as I thought. I couldn't mount the engine to the stand with the flywheel in place, so had to remove this. Hi, is that the case with all engine stands? That you have to take the flywheel off?

Engine normally bolts to the stand through the transmission bolts. So It Should be able to fit as long as there is enough space. I used (Zetec) longer bolts with spacers.

I was just having a nosey through your build and there are some really good ideas.
One thing I noticed - when you were getting your body panels ready for paint they were finished in a really nice Flat/matt black colour. How did you get them to this? Was it just a case of wet and dry on the original with a really fine paper?
I really fancy that finish for my panels but I am not brave enough just to start sanding them back.
Thanks!

Mikeeyboy, no the pic's you saw was of the panels after having been primed with black 2k primer. Black primer is often used on black paint finishes rather than grey to give a greater depth and less chance of of an uneven finsh as a result of the grey showing through. The trouble with a matt finish is keeping it matt, greasy hand marks don't look great.

Hi John,I sent you a pm but I was just wondering who you used to powder coat your frame? On page 19 you said you can recommend a coater within an hour of. So just wonder who it was.... Thanks
