John did you have to fill in that v627 form in the end??? As well as the registration fee which from memory I think is £55 do you also send the money for tax. Any help much appreciated as I am going to send mine tomorrow Yes I filled in the V627 after speaking to Stuart. I would wait and see if they ask you to complete one, seems very hit and miss! Yes I included the Tax as well £181.50 in total.

So I have been thinking about some little aero mods on my car. So set about making a mould for some little 'winglets'. Originally was going to add these to the nose cone but having made them didn't think they looked right there. So was thinking about adding to my side panels. Couple of photos of the unfinished winglets fitted as a trial run. What do people think ADD or BIN?

Ok so the last carbon 'winglet' mod didn't work, so had to try something else. When I was out in my car about two weeks ago, a guy who was following, stopped behind me and ask me what car he had been following? When I told him it was a kit car his response was "no way, it looks so good" as we continued talking he said the only bit that let it down was the seat backs (unfinished chopped strand fibre glass). Now he had mentioned it, I had to agree So out came the Carbon Fibre! Plan was to 'skin' the seat back with C/F. So far only one done, its a complex shape and needed 3 separate pieces of C/F and 3 separate coats of resin to get a half decent finish. Bearing in mind a lot of the seat back is hidden the finish isn't super critical. Next photo shows the removed seat after 'skinning'. It's difficult to get a perfect finish with this approach as can be seen. Think its just passable. Really needs a lot of flatting back and then polishing. Then fitted I've also fitted my new steering wheel and added some personalised branding GSpeed. and to finish things off a little personalised ID plate on the passengers side of the dash. Might get me a commission to build an Exo for someone, one day

As usual its a masterpiece. Love the steering wheel funny i bought a momo flat bottom one tonight but by God could I shift the old one. I loosened the nut but left it on so it wont hit me in the face but it was not for budging. Will try again tomorrow
Ps you will have to wear gloves or you will ruin the suade

scooby. To get wheel off leave nut on loose.. put the ball of a ball peen hammer on the shaft with the handle under the wheel rim and pull up alittle and also push up with your knees while you hit the flat of the hammer with another hammer.Should pop off.

Number plate mounted. Dam it, managed to drill a hole just where the 6 is, no black screw cap covers so the 6 looks a bit like a G. JG EXO Few more miles done today. Hopefully also get out in the week.

Whats your opinion John on your suspension setup. Is it very harsh with the coilovers and polyurethane bushes? Where did you get that sexy steering wheel?

Whats your opinion John on your suspension setup. Is it very harsh with the coilovers and polyurethane bushes? Where did you get that sexy steering wheel? scooby, re ride. I have mine wound right up in terms of ride height. This was my default setting. My plan is to try to dial in the suspension by first adjusting ride height (so will slacken off the springs by 20mm to start with. Once I get a balance between ride height and spring loading I will try adjusting the shock using the adjusting screw on the shock bottom. Never done it before so this might not be the right approach. Others feel free to comment. It is firm but not backbone breaking at the moment. Re steering wheel I ordered it from Furore (make the single seater F1 kit car) Hopefully meeting up with Trident on Wednesday so we can compare rides. His is using standard shocks.

If you fully wind them up is that not putting a very large pre load into them and putting your car as low as it can go?
