So my next upgrade on my Exocet is in the pipeline, first job will be a new Engine Management unit. More to follow on that soon.
In the meantime, was think ahead to The National Kit car show at Stoneleigh.
How many Exocets are planning to go?

Despite the forecast of rain. Ran up to Stoneleigh today with Trident. Both cars performed well. M40 was a blast in convey. Despite the weather just great fun to drive the car again. Nice to meet some fellow builders, shame about the rain. I need to investigate getting a thingpit cover made so I can keep the thingpit dry if it rains when I'm parked up. Caption competition for the photo anyone? My entry; "That Silver Exocet is super, but the Orange one is better!"

Yes but come on John, either your car is slow or you don't know where the accelerator is....now I'm pretty sure you know how to drive.... as there was lots of right foot down when pulling away. .....just a shame I had to keep using the middle pedal to keep view of you in my mirrors.

Hey T, is that a polite way of calling me Captain Slow? It did get a bit twisted and out of shape at one point Have you got any video evidence to back up your claims?[/quote]

It's a known fact that there are cars that are "too nice to drive". Greg, no worry, my baby is back in her bed and then few hours spent tonight returning her to former condition. In fairness, I really enjoyed the drive. Great having Trident as a 'wing man'/ 'someone to try to keep up with' The rain wasn't that bad Luke speculated tonight, that seeing one Exocet on the road would be exciting for most other drivers/passengers. Seeing two in convey would be awesome! .... I don't disagree.

Decided to add a little padding to my seats. I wanted something that would be functional but also look good. So I stole an idea I saw at this years kit car show. Basically, it involves making some seat inserts out of fibre glass to mirror the seat profile and then covering with Neoprene and then a Alcantara (faux suede). So step one was to make the seat inserts. Removed a seat and got to work with some fibre glass. Top and bottom inserts, I still have the mid section to make. Once cured I removed and added some shaping and ended up with the following. Because they are a mirror image of the seat they sit perfectly in place. I intend to finally position using velcro tape. Will update when I've covered them.
