15/49 makes the highest ratio this far on a tR1ke on this forum. Other recommended ratios are 15/46-47 and they seem to like it. I'm looking forward to your experiences. i haven't decided to change my ratio for now because the chain and sprockets are in too good conditiion and I cannot make up my mind...

I think Kevin was running 14/50 at the Llandow track day, but he has more patience than me and doesnt mind swapping sprockets between road and track

After speaking to Kev last night, I have now got a new set of sprockets to fit and gear the tR1ke down a bit. with the 16/46 set my theoretical top speed was 175mph. this will now be changed to 15/49 bringing speed in top down to 154mph, and only 77mph in first.I hope this will allow me to use more than just first gear around Curborough. I can smell tyre smoke just thinking about it

I also found 3 spare links of chain in the garage, so I must have only used 3 extra originally

Thats good then, don't forget your speedo will be over reading with the lower gearing.

New sprockets fitted and test drive done! I haven't yet set the speedo healer or gear indicator, but the difference is massive. Pulling away is much better not sure about any difference in acceleration, but can go all the way to 6th gear with the back wheel spinning. Probably time to fit the new rear tyre now!

Lowering the gearing helps pulling away but you will have to get a trackday tyre if you want better grip, either that or try pulling away WITHOUT full throttle, I know you've never tried this technique but it might help

My Tr1ke is up for sale as of today. I bought Matts unfinished Mevabusa Kit the weekend so the tR1ke needs to go to finance the new build
