The windscreen looks real good & functional. I hope to read how it works & more details as to the material & it's thickness. The height will be determined by the drivers size, so you'll need to measure the distance from the ground to the top your helmet & let us know that as well. It should save cleaning the bug splatter off the helmet visor & passenger seat eh ?

It looks about the right height to me Paul, you sit quite low in the chassis so 6in will make a big difference to the buffeting. I have mine at 4,3/8in high but you're a little bit taller.
I hope the screen is shatter proof, mine's polycarbonate I think and can be folded without cracking which is important as the air pressure at speed is very high.

It's made from3 mm (I think )scratch resistant polycarbonate. Hoping for some dry weather to go out and test it soon. I have another piece of the same sheet of polycarbonate to make some side panels. I'm thinking possibly a Velcro fixing to make them easily removable. Don't really want to leave the tr1 ke in the garage all winter, so have to try and make it usable in less favourable weather conditions. It's never going to be a winter vehicle but we have got to try !!

My experience: With a helmet, motorjacket and some gloves the Tr1ke is comfortable down to 5 degrees C. Hot air from the radiator, is coming by heating up the drivers legs very nice and warm.

That is right, I also have no cold feet. Only the chest gets a little chilly...

had a little run out in the tr1ke today. sun was out so I thought it would be rude not too! New screen works perfectly, took it up to around 70 mph and no wind buffetting without a helmet. even had the goggles off driving around town and all was well. Screen is not th best looking thing in the world, but makes a big difference to driveability.

Glad to read your screen performed well, Paul. Are there washers behind the bodywork to spread the load ?

No washers behind. Just fibreglassed nuts on to the inside of the nosecone.Originalgrp is quite thick in that area as its bolted near the top edge

You've done well getting that much for the frame + chassis Paul, especially at this time of year.

After speaking to Kev last night, I have now got a new set of sprockets to fit and gear the tR1ke down a bit. with the 16/46 set my theoretical top speed was 175mph. this will now be changed to 15/49 bringing speed in top down to 154mph, and only 77mph in first.I hope this will allow me to use more than just first gear around Curborough. I have also fitted 300lb springs to the front and an 800lb spring on the back. its made the ride quite a bit harder but, being a fat b****d, it no longer drops so far when I get in it.
