I must admit I would'nt think just draining the oil would get all the shrapnel out, but I suppose if there was no bits inside when you took the sump off you might be ok. Fingers crossed then.

after all the trouble with the generator the week before Stoneleigh I thought we had everything sorted, as the drive to and from Stoneleigh show went ok. Then on the Monday afternoon I went out for a quick blast, stalled it at the end of the lane, and it wouldn`t start again. I pushed it back in the garage and left it for a couple of days and eventually found out the new complete generator I bought, had a shim missing from in the middle. The missing shim caused a locking ring to wear through and a tiny metal tab from the edge of it found its way round into the generator and its broke again. Think with the two damaged generators we have managed to make a working one now, but it does not give me any confidence in it. It is basicly a piss poor design. Just going to run it for now and see how it lasts. It seems the maximum output from it is only charging the battery at 13.5 volts. Was thinking of giving it a run to Japfest at Castle Combe today, but weather is a bit crap so probably will leave it in the garage untill we get some dry days.

Hi Dave. Glad to here yours is all finished. Paul did mention it when I spoke to him on Saturday. Your build time must have been about the same as mine (10 weeks). Give me a shout when you get on the road and we can meet up one Sunday and compare notes.

Hi Paul. With great interest your build is followed. I like your luggage solution. It looks like you are using motor bike bags.
How did you fix them? Are you willing to share pictures of the fixing with us?
Cheers, Edwin

hi Edwin, luggage bags are fixed with the velcro strap that is designed to go over the bike saddle. There was also some D rings on the back which lined up perfect with the chassis rails, so these are fixed with some zip ties. Bags are just big enough to take my crash helmet so i dont have to carry it around. I will try and take some photos later if I get a chance. Cheers Paul

Reg. helmets, I have seen an Rocket thread on this forum and the owner uses a paintball mask. Seems to be a superb lightweight option worth living. Not sure if this is street legal but the visor is close to bullet proof . They come cheap too vs a bike helmet.

Had a fantastic day at curborough, all of you who didnt go really missed out, hopefully we will see a few more next year. Its a great chance to get your MEV on the track and drive it like you stole it ! I did as you can see in this video. I`ve got a few more to upload later, and I think Nigel is going to do something "arty" with the footage from 3 go pro`s mounted on the trike. I think between me and Kevin, we may have even covinced a couple of others that tr1kes are great fun.

I couldn't agree more Paul It was great fun, but next time bring yourself more beer as you certainly worked up a thirst with all the track time you had.

More video footage from the AMM at Curborough. Front and rear facing go pro cameras from the same lap
I think we all managed plenty of track time for the £40 cost. must have been getting on for a hundred laps through the whole day.
