Hi guys,,,,,this is what I've done lately. Mounted a pair of 4.25" headlights & led directionals. I also put a progressive spring on the shock & notched the RTR bracket in order to use the oem shock mount. The piece they sent will be replaced, since it didn't fit properly & another builder did the same notch, with good results. It raised the rear end & with my bride in the seat,it sags to the same ride height as the front. I'll buy more led's to mount under the "tag" or license plate. Take care,y'all. Here's a question or 2 for Y'all. Is the fuel you use, contain ethanol ? If so,are you concerned that it will corrode the aluminum tanks on your tR1ke ?

There's not much we can about it really, the only problem with is if the carbs are left with fuel in for too long they will need to be cleaned, but that's after no use for weeks or months so its a good idea to strip them and air line all the air and fuel passageways if off the road for the winter. Cheers Kevin

Greetings from Mtn. City TN.,,,,In between the rains & snow fall,I've thought about aligning the front wheels & said to myself,"self it's time to ask for help". Since the wheels will come off to powdercoat the frame, should I adjust the wheels now or wait 'til it's together again ? Question #2,,How tight should the front suspension bolts be ? FT.Lbs. = ? I've seen charts for certain size bolts, but what did y'all do ? Should a "rough setup" be done now ? What process did you builders follow ? Thanks in advance for your advice & take care.

It's all up to you. My bolts are in fact quite loosen to have a smooth movement of the suspension. Nylock prevents bolts from coming off. My first alignment was "on sight" no measurements. Good alignment is needed for comfortable higher speeds. Above 80 km/h or 50 mph.

You can set the steering before or after as long as you don't adjust the track rods once its set.
As Edwin said...their isn't a specific torque setting for the wish bones or the shocks so too tight will stop the suspension from moving, so with new nylocks go as tight as you can without loosing suspension movement.
It will bed in after a few 100 miles so if you want you can tighten them a bit more. Cheers Kevin

Thanks in advance for your advice & take care. 1) Wait until she's back on her feet again. This is the last thing to do. When the arms are hanging the slob in the brackets are on the wrong side of the bolts as well. she needs to be on her feet again first. 2) if you bolt them too tight you'll lock the crush tubes. Bolt them tight enough not to deform the brackets. That's what i"ll do soon. My nuts have been mounted only a few pitched before the nylock now. I'll tighten them when she is off the studs. br! Erik
