You might want to wrap the heater hose loop with a heat wrap.. It is close to the exhaust headed..Don,t need it drying out..

Yes George will deffo be wrapping those pipes. Drilled the hole for the fuel cover this morning. Got her to hold it in the correct position then measured the distance to the back of the roll bar and from the side of the garage wall. I used a 58 mm hole saw. It lined up perfect

Yes i covered mine in masking tape to before using the hole cutter. Now i need to trim the elbow so the cut metal fuel pipe will sit neatly on the underside.
As far as i know there are 3 exocets in the North. I am at a trackday 3 weeks this sunday so trying to get her ready for that. I will also be taking it to Mondello Park Dublin in September

Well a big night on Exocet as i have now just 2.5 weeks before a track day. I have power i stupidy forgot about the earth close to the battery so dash, lights etc working. Tonight i properly bent and shaped my fuel pipes and they are in position. Standing at the front of the car which one is the main feed? Tonight i was on a roll and made up the brake pipes. A good tip for anyone making the front near side is keep the original and use it as a template. One thing i did notice and near came a cropper was that the original pipes on the car are double flares but for my new flexis they were just a single flair. Wrecked now

Well sitting chilling with a pint of ice cold magners after starting work on the car at 8 am and finishing at 9.30 pm what a day. 1 Front hubs removed and wing stays fitted. Dust covers were a pig but very easy after that. All 12.9 bolts cut to size 2. New brakeline made up that joins between the 2 rears 3. Rear calipers stripped and greased with red rubber grease. Calipers built up with new disks and pads 4. Front brakes fitted but pistons stuck solid totally seized. Even with hydraulic pressure i only managed to partially move one. I then blattered it out with a hammer and chisel. Going to buy 2 new calipers 5. Clutch fluid added and successfully bled 6. Originally my car had an immobilser fitted and using my new found wiring diagram skills traced the broken fuel pump wire and fixed it. I had previously fixed a broken ignition wire. Very concerned that this immobiliser would haunt me. 7 Added fuel 8 Fitted battery and checked for a spark by removing a plug. Spark was there 9 Added a rubber hose to my fuel line and directed it into bucket. No fuel. In fact no buzz from fuel pump. Checked connector with meter no power to pump. Checked more of the rear loom and i had power. Rigged up a couple of connectors from fuel pump direct to battery. Pump started buzzing and fuel filling bucket. 10 Fuel line reconnected 11 Car starts and big scream of joy 12 Pint of cider and feet up

Well done a very productive day and a well deserved magners. It great to get it starte, it as good a ready to drive around the estate. When I got mine going I drive back and forth to make sure the breaks worked and nothing was rubbing or rattling . I also did the odd run up a few country lanes late at night . I wasn't very popular as I had only the exhaust temparly on and it made a lot of noise
Talk soon

Well 9 days and counting to this trackday. I know i am not goin to have the wing stays in place on time so i removed the front ones. They are a pain of a thing the amount of times i have walked into them is unreal. My new front calipers arrived today so got them fitted. Thats new copper brake lines, braided lines, new calipers, new discs, new pads, new clips and rubbers and racing brake fluid so hopefully the brakes should be good. I also marked off my bonnet and drilled and filed the holes for the cam locks. Tired now so time for a Magners and loads of ice

Well been away for a while got involved in a much bigger project which has involved more funds, patience and loads of sleepless nights. My future apprentice.... Anyway the only thing I have managed is to remove the old stainless janspeed exhaust which stuck out far to much. I dug out the old original exhaust and cut the back box off. I bought a cherrybomb silencer. Got to weld in in place and make up a few supports. Be interesing to see what it sounds like. Ordered some rear LED lights thanks Toed64 as I have decided to get this thru the IVA instead of just track only
