How handy are the interior light connections - you could splice a live feed from them and not worry about it?

Yes I ran a live from the hazard fuse to the hazard switch and it worked so I might go down that road . Once they work on the stalk I be happy with that

Hi guys
On the air intake I am planning to fit a KN type filter but on the old one there is a air. Temp sensor. What have other done with this do you mount it in the engine bay or fit it between the new filter and the air flow unit to get better co2 readings ?

Geoff from my pic below. The cone K&N filter goes on the end of the remaining intake pipe. The exisiting sensor ( Maff possibly) sits in the square box just before the end of the tube. The K&N cone has a gap in its seal to put the sensor from the original filter box , you can easily remove the sensor by twist and pulling from the filter box

Started fitting the wheel stays but as I am using 17 inch alloys with 205 40 Tyre's there was not enough clearance and in 2 cases none at all so thinking cap on again and went to a fabrication engineering suppliers and got 2meters of 25x5mm mild steel to extend the bolt location by 20mm and it works well , Cleaned and welded 50mm on to each and then drilled a new hole to be able to mount them
What is used to bond the wheel arch to the wheel stays ?

I used fibreglass to fix my arches on. Only problem was that 2 of them were knocked (by me!) whilst curing. Although they appeared to be fine, they both rattled loose on the 50 mile drive to my IVA so I ended up slapping some resin glue on them just to hold them in place for the journey home. Ended up giving all of them an extra helping of fibreglass and they've been fine ever since.

Thanks mate I tough that fiberglass would be the strongest .also I thinking of a way of removing the wing to changing the wheel etc .
A bit of half inch copper (15mm UK) over the stays fits well and when they are fiber glassed to the wing it can be slid off when needed
Another tough going through my head

Could be an option as long as you put a screw through the pipe and in to the stay to hold it in place.
Thinking back to when I installed mine, I seem to recall that I had to put them up at quite an angle to get them on and off of the stays, so that may prevent your idea from working. However, it may just be that I drilled my holes in a less than perfect location, so it could still work if drilled slightly differently.

It finally finished well a few small bits I brought it for a 10k run to day to see what would fall off but all went well nothing fell off or loose. Put the donor plate on the back in case I got stopped by an garda ,but gave them a call on Friday to say that i was giving it a shake down they had no issues A bit of fine tuning and plan to get the all tracked next week .Then the pain full bit paper work to get ready for Revenue so they can make a decision on the final cost to put it on the road So a good day after all

nice lines geoff
how did you tackle the tank filler on the rear tub?

Hi red5
I had to think long and hard on how I could cut the filler pipe and get it to work so I cut the pipe just below where it starts to flare out also on the rubber pipe there a bit of a bend in it ,so cut it back a small bit at a time then fitted it to the tank and bent it up but when I did that the rubber pipe creased so to over come this I got a bit (30mm) 47mm plumbing waste pipe and cut it down the middle I then I got a good quality jubilee clip and clamped the pipe over the crease to make a clean flow for the fuel to enter the tank
Then try to hold the filler vertical to get a few measurements before I cut the rear tub
Measure 10 times cut 1 I glad I worked but will have to wait till I go to the filling station to test the full force of a fuel pump

That was my plan mate - I got some underfloor heating pipe amoungst others sat in petrol to see if it melts to do the same job on the inner linning bit . Im not looking forward to lining it all up at all.

Difficult to gauge the space mate but no more than 100mm on the top.

Hi guys
didn't sspogman fit the filler on top and there wasn't much clearance
Worth getting his views on this
