Good luck Craig fingers crossed for you
Cant understand how you would get the scratch under the seal unless somebody before did it when removing the seal or you did it by mistake trying to get it out

good luck mate
I would also take the mesh to retro fit - or even do it now in your time
I havnt had any over heating issues and I have used the supplied stuff, its been stood in traffic in the recent heat with no snags

Ah, the issue is the mesh that was supplied was nowhere near big enough to fill the mouth of the bumper... I may have to get my step dad who's coming along with me to pop to halfords if need be

Craig,
I would save your money, halfords will rip you off for mesh. I'm sure in the recent 'Running Hot' threat it was plain garden plastic mesh that was used. couple of quid I reckon and job done. Then once IVA'd you can select a nicer alternative if you wont or run her open.
Once again, fingers crossed.

Sorry for the late reply, was my birthday today so went out after the car, it was ok however it did fail on stupid things, it was the first exocet that they had tested at Newcastle and my tester was being tested at the same time so everything was done by the book and any little parts like nut caps or bits of edging trim that it failed on he wouldn't tell me about during the test, I told him if there were any issues let me know as I brought lots of parts to rectify any issues but he wouldn't tell me until the end.
they did comment on how good the build was and how impressed they were, it basically failed on
side panels radius inside and outside and also the 2 support brace bars inside
rear view mirror radius on the main talk
front suspension I had missed one 3" line that needed edging trim
I had forgot to put but caps on the headlights after adjustment so another radius fail
I did need a front grill as radius edge of the 2 horns failed
that was basically it
Now I'll start a new thread when I get chance but there is a change in the rules regarding wheel covers and the angles required, I'll elaborate more hopefully tomorrow
overall I'm happy with it, got my retest next Thursday anyway so fix these few little issues and should be sorted.
My test did take the full 5 hours aswell but the 80miles round trip was awesome needs the boost pressure on the turbo looking at as it's running low at the minute so I'm thinking the diagafram has gone weak but will investigate when tested.

Thats a real shame and its such a petty thing a bit of edge trim missing. Its a nonsense. I think I would of said to him hold on a minute and stuck some on.

I didn't want to argue as I already got them to change the ruling on the wing covers and set up my speedo on the rollers so, for the sale of it I ended up just keeping quiet, I've pretty much done the failure points anyway now just need to file down the side panels.
it's booked next Thursday so at least I'll get chance to have another drive out in it legally until it's registered. I'm also sorting out the relevant paperwork now so it's reading for next week to send off straight away

Never got round to updating this but I took the car back for its retest on Thursday and it passed Woo, took all of 15 minutes to check the bits over and then he did my certificate. So I'm now waiting for my v55/5 to arrive from the DVSA

Well done - really nice car. I look forward to reading more about your car's performance with your turbo set-up.
