Talk about getting nowhere with people with regard to brakes, Tried talking to Goodridge, might as well talk Hebrew... Then looked on Venhill's website, its all very well if you understand all this stuff, I bloody don't, so tried emailing them direct, waste of time, so now found a guy on eBay selling Venhill stuff, eventually ordered close to £100 of bits n bobs I think I need, going from 3/8th to 10mm, only to find the inner bulkhead thread is 1/8TH BSP?
FFS, I am Metric not this, Its not bad enough I know near on naff all about Brakes, but when I ask bloody advice of professional brake dealers, to be palmed off with "It states in the advert they will only work with Venhill Powerhoses" The advert said 10x1mm, my caliper is 10x1mm, so I think I will order 2 x Bulkhead 10mm unions, I ordered 2 x 10mm bulkhead nuts, they arrived, fit together nice, thread on the back at a glance looked the same. No its this 1/8th BSP, luckily I think I have found the 1/8th BSP flexi unions from old stock I had, they screw on anyway, so now its looking like I will have to replace my Kunifer brake pipe to the 4 way union with flexi running BSP fitting to 3/8th fitting. Why is all this new stuff not 10mm, the brake calipers are, the master cylinders are not, a whole host of metric. imperial and other fittings to totally expletive deleted me off indeed.
Rant over for now, I expect brake fluid to leak everywhere now....

Got an email back from the seller saying I will need 1/8th BSP hoses, they do them of course, but I think my ends will work, well may as well try as otherwise thats another £40 I will need to get these brakes connected. I will hope they work, but will not pray :-)

Trike now on its wheels, and sat on the dolly skate. Ace bit of kit. Has allowed parking of both vehicles in my garage. Won't get much done now till after my hols. Don't want to attempt fitting anything that could go wrong and make me worry for 2 weeks. Will hopefully get the brakes plumbed in though.

I managed to lose the 2 x Metric Fine set screws for the engine mounts, so just went and got more today, hope to secure the upper engine mounts tonight all being well, may get chance to run some oil cooler pipework, and maybe even get the exhaust in place

Bought the correct bolts again for the upper engine mounts and tried like buggery to fit them, managed to get the left hand side in, then realised the engine had twisted, removed this bolt, it may now have stripped the thread so may need drilling out and tapping larger :-( Turns out the upper brackets are drilled wrong in relation to where the rear mounts are. once the left bolt was removed the rear brackets let the engine sit correct and straight. It looks like we will be filing out the holes to marry up the holes on the engine. There is plenty of meat on these brackets, so shouldn't be a problem, plus the bracket is a big hefty piece of steel, so should be fine. Will drop the engine out when I get back from Florida :-) and file those holes, then refit the engine and secure it properly.... Just ordered a cheap but good tube beading tool, great value of eBay at £50 New, nothing special and I suppose I could have made one, but £50 is a bargain based on similar looking units at 6 times this price. Will feel much better knowing those coolant pipes are secure with a bead on the pipe. Speak soon :-)

At least removing the engine will allow me to pull the water coolant pipes out to bead the ends :-)

Looks like I had the same issue when fitting my engine. (2001 engine) The engine is bolted in with: 2 axles: back end high and low 2 bolts: each side a bolt The frame brackets of my high end axle was shifted 2 or 3 mm. So the holes were shifted as well.
Getting the engine in, out and in again with in between modifying the frame is not easy.

Yeah, have tried various things with regard to moving the engine, my mate is an engineer and thankfully will be offering his expertise and help to make it fit. We will get there im sure, we aim to try and fit it into the side mounts then possibly alter the rear supports and see what happens, of course if the side mounts are way out, them we will concentrate only on these and leave the rear mounts intact. :-)

we spent close to 3 hours leaning the engine forward, drilling, filing, engine check, nope more filing needed, engine check, still more filing :-), finally I have 2 x mountable side mounts, once I have a M10 tap to tap the entire R1 block and 4x 4mm washers to take up the slack, the engine should be well and truly mounted properly tomorrow night :-)
Once the engine is in, I can plumb the water pipes in, got a 3mtr long throttle or choke / handbrake cable to try, hoping to get many more days closer together now to get on with my trike and get it finished.
