Here are some pictures of the beam (main and dip). I still need to adjust them by the way, and the right is brighter than the left, so I want to claim one bulb for warranty: I also made a carbon cover to protect the bottom side of the radiator: That is all for now. Next weekeind I will be playing with it on the racetrack of Zandvoort (if the wetter is cooperating a little...) Hopefully I can shoot a nice video!

Thanks for the pics they are a nice white beam, the normal bulbs aren't bad but still a good improvement. Cheers Kevin

Since I have no problems of any kind with my tR1ke, it is time to make some luxury modification. I want to fit a cruise control system, Waeco magic speed MS700. Has anyone experience with it?

Yes, I did some rechearch already. I need type 700 because it doesn't need a vacuum resource. Since it is not particulary cheap, before I order it, I would like to know how weather resistant it is. Also, the controls are mainly intended to mount inside a car, I am afraid that a drop of rain will ruin the buttons. So, if anyone knows about it, please feel free to share your knowledge . I was getting a little tired of removing the complete nosecone every time I had to check brake fluid, coolant, adjust clutch- and throttle cable, etc etc. So, I made me a bonnet! Afterwards, I let all the orange bodywork wrap with orange Avery wrap foil, to avoid an expensive paint job... Sent from my S4 Active.

How do you make the fixing?

It is fixed with 5 M5 countersunk bolts and rivet nuts. And carbon and epoxy resin for the edge where the bonnet lays on...
I don't know how to explain it with text, so I will try to make an explanation later...

Hi Rik, epoxy resin is a poor adhesive on polyesther. You should reconsider an additional overlap of cloth and polyesther over the carbon cloth. Make sure you grind/sand off the surface of the epoxy resin, preferable as rough as possible. Degrease with acethone or thinner and let the molecules vapourise for 24hrs or it might affect adhesive performance of the resins. Great modification tough! br, Erik

Thanks for the advice Eric, but it is a really stirdy fit... How long would it take to fall off normally? I spilled some drops, but I had to remove them with sandpaper afterwards... even on the smooth gel coated surface on the outside I couldn't peel the drops off, so I assumed the epoxy will hold...

The bond could take a long time to hold depending if the surface is stiff enough. If it shows flexit may come loose and quite often if it shows a small air gap in the seam it could fall off very easely. On the model aircraft planes (mostly made from polyesther resin to cut costs) there is no way to glue parts or formers in place with epoxy resin. The next best thing to do is tear off the epoxy resin from the poly surface and glue back with CA (cyano acrylat/seconden lijm) which etches the surface and gives a chemical good bond.
Please take proper care of the countersunk holes. The gelcoat and poly waeve is brittle and may show wear very soon. I do use stainless washers with silicons washers glued undrneath to extend the GRP lifespan. They should be available at the local hardware store.
br, Erik

Hello vtR1k, stellar work I must say, congrats!
Could you share how you made the brake bias (verdeling) between front and rear? Is it adjustable or fixed like 70% front and 30% rear brake? Really interested in that.
Cheers,
Jelle

Hi Jelle,
It is a standard turn- knob, but it is crappy. It works with a cable, basically the same as the old speedometer cables. But the balance bar turns too heavy so the cable keeps loosening... Frankly, I have no idea how the setting is at the moment...
