Picked up my (180+bhp ;D) donor today! A very neat looking bike, only the fairing was missing. It runs like a dream and can't wait to have it ik my tR1ke! After a few hours: I'll keep you informed!!

Over 500bhp per tonne will put a big smile on your face, good luck with the build

Looks like you have a newer model R1. Does the engine fit the frame?

Well, the swingarm will be shipped to RTR. About the engine I am not sure yet. In the worst case I will have to adjust the frame myself. It will be another extra day of work, but it will be worth the effort!

I want to have the frame powdercoated black and the body some kind of metallicish orange ("Pearl Lively Orange", a Honda VTR color to be precice). So presumably the rims will be made completely black.
I wanted these rims because of the weight, only 7.6 kg for the 17". With the Dunlops fitted, they weigh approx. 16 kgs. The Momo corse weigh 8.9 kgs and fitted with the Yoko's they come at total weight of approx. 21 kgs.
But I couldn't order them in only black so I will remove the red striping if it doesn't match. Maybe I will repaint the striping in the same color as the body.

This pic I receves from the importer today: Ready for transport !! Well this is what I tinkered until now. My detachable steering wheel! Green: shift up, red: shift down, blue: pass, yellow: don't know yet. Horn button in the middle and a toggle switch on the left side for the turn signal. And these are my wheels, came in today: Also in progress: a fuel-pump-housing-and-swirl-pot-in-one. When it's ready I will post a pic. cheers
