I follow an account called Engineering Explained I follow that account too he does some very interesting stuff. The Rocket doesn’t handle as well or have the balance of the Exocet but it does put the power down well with weight over the driving wheels. I guess it all comes down the millions manufacturers spend on development on how they can make an unbalanced car handle.

The MOT emission test standards are not based on the individual vehicles Euro emssions standard that it was type approved with. So a Euro 6 car doesn’t get tested to different standards as a Euro 3 car. The figures were using now are the ones In the earlier comments which were set in 2001. Pre 1992 no CAT were different standards. I would say newly registered kit cars have to have a CAT and achieve the 2001 standards. All new production cars would have to meet the current Euro emssions when it was type approved . I don’t think cars like Atoms and Caterhams have to adhere to the latest emissions, they probably get round it by the small numbers produced or something like that....? They’re not really production cars.

Why not use a thick gasket paper? Be a lot easier and you can tap it out with hammer or mark it out and cut it with a craft knife and hole punches.

It can go pretty much anywhere really to stop corrosion and protect components. It’s good stuff that was designed for the military. This is pretty informative......

If it has to stay outside under a cover then I would coat it with ACF50. Its really good. It comes in cans or refillable spray bottles. I’ve used some from a refill in a spray bottle, it’s thick to go on but protects very well. I don’t think there’s anything much better. images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41%2BcIFpc4TL._SY445_.jpg

Anyone know what happened to this build? I was watching with interest a few years back, but it seems to have come to a halt. I wonder if it was ever finished it would have been great car. www.rsrocket.co.uk/

That Volvo 5 Cylinder engine In the st225 is a great engine but it might be hard work getting it in a Rocket being so long, and heavy I suspect too. It would be nice to see someone complete one with the Ford V6 though. Mmm V6 smoothness..... I think Stuart said it was lighter than a Zetec probably right as it's aluminium.

Decided to increase the width of wings as they had to be lifted too high to prevent rubbing when I use the 205 tyres and actually look pretty naff like that. That's interesting I was planning on putting some 215 tyres on the rear. I have the same cycle wings. I had done the measurements and was thinking they'd just fit under. I guess not then.

You're welcome to mine if you like. It's not going back on my Rocket. You'd have to get it painted to match your colour unless yours is Oxford blue. Its cut very nicely, has neat fasteners and a piano hinge. It has VW number plate lamps which I made to fit very well.

Hi, Cheers for the reply. The document I was referring to says.... 01/4/15 Certificate Of Engine Rebuild "This document certifies that the vehicle listed below has been fitted with a Yamaha R1 998cc engine that was fully rebuilt by the technicians in our Nottingham workshop to a new standard" RTR Trike Chassis number RTRMEVTRIKER1#### (Then my engine number) Inspected and certified by: Paul Holmes Director Exo Sports Cars Ltd Company No:09388948 The stamp/logo at the top is EXO SPORTS CARS SVE NOTTINGHAM. I would imagine RTR created this document so the trike got a new regrstration at the time. Rebuilt engine? Any receipts for any engine parts?
