Finally got the shipping info! Kit will arrive Monday, I'll pick it up Tuesday, and it's off to the fab shop to do some tunnel mods before paint that same day!

Something similar, although the seat I'm trying to fit is slightly larger (Sparco Ergo2) than what was fit there. I'm a big guy at 6'5" and almost 240lbs, so it's not just width I'm looking at. I'll post pictures as it gets worked on.

I used the Ultrashield 17 Rally sport. mevowners.proboards.com/thread/5542/johns-build-south-florida?page=4With the Sparco seat you will have clearance issues with the shoulder. keep that in mind. If you are considering the tunnel mod I have an Ultrashield 18 Spec Miata seat. it has no shoulders on the seat you could mount it further back if the tunnel is cutout like what is posted in the conflicted racer link.

Good info. I'm not too concerned about the shoulder width. A large reason that I'm notching the tunnel is to center the seat better and get my arm off the outer bar, which is a big complaint that I have with the design. Centering the seat more should be enough to where the shoulders of the Ergo (~23-24") shouldn't be a huge issue. That said, before buying the seat I'm doing a quick mock up to make sure it fits, otherwise I'll likely go with a Rallysport.

I agree with you on getting the arm off the bar, I have the same complaint. I wish the frame was just a little wider at the seats it would solve many problems. What I was referring to earlier was the seat shoulders hitting is forward roll bar support that comes down. (the one in yellow). The further back your seat is mounted the higher it needs to be for the seat shoulder to clear that bar. I have tried 3 different seats before finding one that I am happy with. Hope this helps. John

John John, I'm hoping to move it far enough inward to largely avoid that bar. Additionally, the shoulder wings on the Ergo2 are quite a bit higher (2-3" I think?) than on a Rallysport, which should help with clearance.

I love the Sparco seats, I even bought a set of R333's for my Exocet. They didn't fit. I am going to assume that you are planning on using the large Ergo 2 correct? BTW that is the only size of that seat I could fit into. I have noticed a few problems you might have. First the large Ergo 2 seat is 1020 mm or 40" tall, the rear measurement is 430 mm or 16 15/16" wide and bottom front is 520 mm or 20 1/2". With this seat mounted at its lowest setting the top of the seat would be even or above the roll bar. The front might stick out under the side bar. If you have the need for a HALO seat Ultrashield has a HALO version of the rally sport. www.ultrashieldrace.com/catalog/Road-Race-Seats/Road-Race-Full-Containment-Seats/Rally-Sport-Halo-Seat/166Hope you find this info helpful.

The problem with the Rallysport is that the shoulder holes/wings are much, much too low on me. I could get a custom seat made (and very well may if the Ergo2 doesn't fit) but I'm trying to avoid waiting 10+ weeks for a seat since I need the seat to make any tunnel mods before I have the frame painted. Either way, I'm lucky in that I have a shop that stocks race seats locally so I can do some rough fitting before actually buying a seat. Unrelated, here's a bit of good news from Exomotive:

Dan, will you take a picture of yourself wearing one of those signs as a hat and post it on the 92x forum as a quick fly by?
