Useful info on this thread. I've got a '94 Miata that I'd like to share wheels with, so I'm inclined to use the spacers, even though I don't like the idea of them.
How heavy are the spacers? I'm a big believer in "lighter is better" and willing to pay more for RPF-1s + spacers, but if the spacer weights a couple of pounds there's probably no point and I should just buy the zero offset Holeshots.
JID - looks like you've got a lot more clearance than you need - is that to fit the fenders?
Do both the front and rear wheels need to be spaced/low offset? I assume if the front do, it's to fit the fenders.

The weight of the spacer should not be that big a problem.. It is at the hub/center of the wheel weight you are turning. Multi tasking wheels good idea..

FWIW I asked an eBay seller and he estimated the 38mm spacers are 4 lbs each.

FWIW I asked an eBay seller and he estimated the 38mm spacers are 4 lbs each. Estimated wheel load added by using spacers this size is less than 1 lb to the total rotational mass. Remember the weight on the outer edge of the rotational mass matters more than central mass.

You do still have unsprung weight to consider though.

Revisiting this, the more I think the more I don't want spacers. The options I see right now for 15x8 4x100 et0 wheels: -Traklite Holeshot or Drum -Rota Grid-V, Shakotan, Kyusya, RKR, or Zero Plus -A bunch of STR, XXR, Varrstoen, and other reps I'm not sure I trust -Volk TE37L (>$500/wheel) -Work Meister CR01 (>$500/wheel)
Am I missing anything? I feel like no option is quite what I want.

I feel like no option is quite what I want. There's a bunch more offbrands that are 15x8 +0. Personally, I find XXR to be similar to Rota, ie acceptable quality. Perhaps a group buy is in order? I'm sure we can find a vendor willing to do a run if we get 5-10 sets. I'm happy to organize it if there's interest and the wheel is silver. 15x8 +0 or 15x9 -15 would be ideal.

That is a nice wheel, but from what I see it is a 25mm offset. I don't see a 0 offset available. regarding possible group buy if a 0 offset, I am interested.

The Advanti Storm are a horible wheel do to the fact that the spokes stick out making it very easy to destroy a wheel on curbing. If you W2W and rub you can destroy them even worse. I will be testing 9" wheels with differenct options shortly. I really thing a 15x9 6UL with a 10mm or 15mm spacer will work fine and reality it's the suspension travel and spring rates that make it rub with a soft side wall tire. Real race suspension and race tires are the key.

Could the 6UL be made in 0-offset as a group buy custom order?

Could the 6UL be made in 0-offset as a group buy custom order? It could but Emilio would refuse to do it and he has a point. By going to a 0 you are ruining the scrub radius the miata was designed on.

Hey guys, I just put in my order a few weeks ago and I'm looking for wheels under $100 per wheel. I find th weight discussion very interesting. I'm currently looking at some Bassett lightweight steel wheels that are 17lbs for 15x8 (http://www.bassettwheel.com/dhole_lightweight.html). The nice thing about these wheels is that I can get pretty much whatever offset (including negative) I want. The XXRs are just under 17lbs but is a 17lb wheel a big mistake?
