Right car is all registered just waiting for V5 in the post so i think i can finally say im finished!!!!!!!!!! Now not to put off any new builders but it has taken me 22 months and £6650 to get this car on the road, i am so happy with the way its turned out now, good luck to all those in the build phases and hopefully see you all soon. Im based west of birmingham. Junction 2-3 of the M5 if any aspirant builder is ever passing feel free to give me a shout and if im in ill be more than happy to take you out in it. Rich Sweet car but the reg really made me smile having spend several years living in Norway. Kuk is Norwegian slang for the male appendage and sin means her in the same language. If you ever see a blond haired male or female laughing uncontrollably at your car, it's nothing to do with your car, they are probably Norwegian and to them, your plate reads "her c*ck" which is somewhat gender bendingly hilarious to those that understand the Viking tongue. Check it out on Google translate.... RTR :-)

Well driven my car last night and tonight, all I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!
I know I only normaly drive a 1.4 but I thought the performance was brilliant, I wasn't breaking the speed limit but pulling off junctions and overtaking it was brilliant!!!
Last night I will admit I didn't exactly enjoy it as I was very worried about it, but tonight I have loved every second, let's just hope the weather holds out.

Well clocked up 42 miles in a few days and driving it last night i coughed spluttered and ground to a halt, i quickly deciphered no fuel getting to the engine. so i thought as i have a custom tank i hadnt calibrated the low end properly as it was on about 1/4 full at this point so i managed to get someone to bring me a jerry can and filled the tank up. I have fitted a clear fuel filter in the engine bay which i recommend to all to do not only good as a filter but a great tool to look at the fuel getting pumped, so i drained the filter off and turned the key and the fuel filter remained empty, next was to bridge grnd and f/p on the diagnostics to permanently prime the pump but still no fuel. so i admitted defeat and got towed home. This morning i stripped the tank down got the pump out and directly connected it to a battery and nothing, so down to euro car parts and got a spanking new pump 10 mins later she lives again I have now got breakdown cover on it but it does not become active for 24 hours This i the first case i have heard of where a fuel pump has gone, must be my luck Rich

I would not use that filter, looks like a carb filter and no mention of being for fuel injection use or high pressure.. If you want to keep track of fuel/pressure install a good gage in line at the inlet of the fuel rail.. It would be a shame to burn a car for a $6.00 part not meant for your car.. Just my 2 cents..

Well I went out for a lovely 50mile round trip yesterday got the car up to 70mph for the first time, forded a very shallow stream and accidentally did a bit of drifting round an island in the wet. All in all I loved driving it, it can also go over speed bumps!!!
I did just over 50 miles and used just under 10 liters It works put at 23ish miles to the gallon with semi economical driving

I was wondering where you got the brake/turn lights that you placed in the rear wings?

Hey Rich
Has the fuel economy got better ? - I have done less miles to verify but my 1.8 is looking at more toward 26+ MPG , driving generally whatever gear keeps it between 4000 - 6500 RPM i.e not economically.
V happy about not putting the 5 gallon tank in now - 100 mile range in a car isn't much fun when you just want to get out and have a blast for a couple of hours.

Well ive been managing high 20 - low 30 MPG and today i have been out for a 50 mile blast and the needle has hardly moved and i was driving anything but economical. I drove past my house about 3 times as i wanted to keep driving around, i even visited my grandparents and gave my 80+ grandad a spin out in it, he required minimal assistance in getting in and out for those who say there car lacks umph i would get it dynoed to see how good the engine actually is as mine takes off like a missile and i have to make a conscious effort to stop accelerating at 70mph as it doesn't want to stop. His back only could cope for about a half mile but he won't admit it.
I've only adjusted the timing so apart from that it's perfectly standard, would be interesting to see how many of the 130 horses have escaped over the 20 years
