In theory no as its an aero screen, but just to be safe i will probably take it off for the iva. Or if he says it doesn't fall under the category of aero screen remove it on the day. From what Julie sad to me when i picked the kit up, if you can do any modifications there before the test center closes you can get that aspect re-tested for free. Rich

Got my exhaust welded up today, a local place charged £25 for 3 welds didnt think that was to bad. so from the cat ive got a straight stainless pipe, then a 90 degree into the 180. Managed to get hold of a DB meter that i can borrow this weekend so will see if it will pass. Rich

Right, so first things first the exhaust. Its ON the limit so will buy some removable baffles to fit. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251135877019?ssPageName=STRKThis is it running up to 5K revs, it only goes over the 99db limit on when the throttle is lifted and there is the bit of a pop, still not going to risk it. (click the photo for the video) Fitted e-marked mirrors, Then the mesh which was also a good mount for the side repeaters, Fitted wrap around harnesses too, I was going to get 4 points but the outer most strap would of actually been off the end of the harness bar. Now for a little photo shoot Will get the alloys and tyres ordered soon so i can look at fitting the mud guards. Rich

Rich do you not think that ends of the harness bar are incredibly thin bearing in mind that the lugs welded into the frame that they attach to are twice as thick. I have modified mine as I did not like it.

I have modified mine as I did not like it. Tbh mine look like they are much thicker than yours do on the photo and the design of them looks completely different reducing the torsional force due to the of-sett from the center of the bracket. I had to do a lot of fettling though before mine went to powder coating as it was frankly a mess... Rich

After giving up on the search for et15 alloys decided to go down the route of hubcentric spacers. there are loads more alloys avalible to choose from this way. So these are what i ended up getting. I love them think they really suit the car. They are wolfrace lugano 16" Rich

So i got a phone call last friday saying i had a cancellation for a shoulder surgery i have been waiting for, i had the op on wednesday and bad news it was much worse than the MRI showed and ive got 6 weeks in a sling as they had to rebuild most of my joint So i queued the music last weekend and cracked on with as much as i could as i plan to book the IVA soon. Thankfully i had already ordered my headlights and they came just in time. www.s-v-c.co.uk/product/hella-oval-headlights/Knocked up some brackets for them, they're a bit big compared to the dominator headlights that most use but they have the correct beam pattern so no modifications needed to pass the IVA Next were the front indicators, now a question... How mean are the Iva inspectors??? my indicators at their lowest point are 345mm high but then extend a further 160mm high vertically the min height is 350mm. Any idea if these will fail?? if they fail could i put some black duct tape on the first 5mm to make the indicator start higher?? Can anyone see a problem with the indicators being placed here?? As i knew i wouldn't be able to do much more work on the car i quickly made a shroud for the instrument cluster from mesh, once the car has passed the IVA i will make another out of aluminum sheet and carbon wrap it. I will be at Stoneleigh on sunday picking up the last few things before my IVA, i plan on booking my IVA while i'm off anyone know if you can choose your date or is it get what you're given?? I'm hoping that as i will be looking to have it in 7-8 weeks they are not booked up that far yet, will give the kidderminster Vosa station ring today anyway. Sure I'll see some of you at Stoneleigh, I'll be the sad looking one with his arm in a sling :/ Rich

So some of you may of seen me walking round Stoneleigh with a sheet of carbon effect ABS, this is what i did with it. As i didn't have the guts to chop the loom i always felt it was a bit messy so hid it with this sheet Secured it with 2 thumb screws which will be painted black. My wheel spacers have arrived today!! i used 2 nuts with a spanner and socket to thread lock the studs in. Fitted my first mud guard as well, marked out where the wing stay sat and scored the area around, gave it a clean up with meths before glueing. I then used the alloy as a weight the hold down the mud guards while they glued. You may also notice that i have changed the indicator position, the minimum distance from the side was just under the limit but with the spacers on it would've made them too far from the edges of the car. Figured for the price of PU adhesive i'd cover the stay in it also as a bit of rust prevention as this has been mentioned before. Rich

Did you use thread Lock Tight on the studs. maybe just me with my overkill what if thoughts.. As for the engine popping/backfiring make sure your timing is at 10deg. After tests you can set to 14degs.

It's not a back fire just a burp when you come off the pedal at high rpm. Yeah in one of the photos you can see the 2 nuts I jammed so I could create a driving force onto the stud. Then thread locked both the stud in and the spacer to the mx5 hub as this will almost never have to be taken off.
