I though so too, but I think the IVA folks have to worry about a lot of placement and measurements that those of us in the US don't have.

First thought was it looks like a spider sitting on the leaves ready to jump out and bite you.. Look like my property, hundreds of trees all turning color.. Best color we have had in the Ozarks in years..

Truly fantastic build Kevin, much to be learned from your entire blog.
Did you ever workout the total cost for the build with all the new parts upto the point of registration? That's a different story in the UK obviously.
Hope ours can get to 50% of what you achieved. Garreth

Thanks Garreth - When I went back through all the receipts to submit the total cost to the state for licensing/taxes it worked out just over $6000 including the taxes paid when you subtract money made back on unused donor part sales. That price is not inclusive of the cost of the kit. Wheels/Tires, media blasting/powder coating and Seats/Harnesses/Mounts were the highest individual cost items. I scoured for deals and landed the low mileage engine/trans very cheap. By using Rockauto.com and Amazon.com for a lot of the replacement Miata parts I saved a good bit of money too. Registration is very cheap here in the US compared to the IVA test too.

In Georgia we have a "dune buggy" style registration option that I used on this car. It basically involves you cutting the VIN plates off the donor and sending them along with the title to state and assumes that you will be using mostly parts from the donor. They take the donor VIN out of commission and then issue a new VIN, something like "GA-1000XXXXX." The registration calls the car a 2012 Assembled Vehicle/Dune Buggy.
I registered the car in this manner prior to Exomotive issuing MSOs. Now that we issue a Manufacturers Statement of Origin with each kit, you only need that to begin the registration process with your state. Your donor technically does not need a VIN, but the state may want verification of where the engine/transmission came from if you don't have a receipt/invoice for it. This registration method using an MSO will result in the final registration being stated as 201X Exomotive MEV Exocet.
I know of a few other builders who are running around in their Exocets with their donor VIN plate riveted on to the Exocet chassis or PPF. I cannot recommend this as there are some registration and insurance issues that could easily coming up with this method, but know that others are doing it.

Ordered the remaining safety items today - they should arrive next week. Corbeau Forza seats in black vinyl with Corbeau 5-point camlock harnesses and mounts/sliders. Not much remains to order. Battery/Battery Box and mirrors are all I can think of aside from a few fasteners. Thinking of going with an Odyssey PC545 battery. Now that you has the car for a few years, how are the seats holding up?

Finished installing new bushings in the sway bar end links What endlinks are these? Is there already spot to fasten the swaybars on the frame, or do I need to drill holes to get them installed?
