damn, that has to be gutting. Bad luck Kevin. I think he didn't see it mainly because he wasn't looking. On a separate note, that flymount camera is awesome.

I just saw the video posted on Jalopnik. Man that is awful! Is the frame okay?

Where did you get the clamps for the mirrors and what are they called? john B - The clamps are made by PIAA and if you do a Google search for "PIAA 74000" you should bring up the product. I bought mine off Amazon.com.

Pulled the fender off this morning and unfortunately it is probably beyond repair. The wing stay mounts were bent out of shape and the finish was quite messed up on both so I'll need to build two more or have them stripped and re-coated. Driving it sans the front right wing right now. The guy who backed into it was apologetic and the police did come to fill out a report. Things calmed down quickly once I realized the damage was isolated to the fender and not the frame. If I can play my cards right this week I hope to have a new fender produced and mounted in time for The Mitty this weekend at Road Atlanta. I had it aligned this morning and had also had them check the front wheel to ensure it was OK. Wow what a difference. Solid as a rock. Here are my specs after all was said and done: Things got crazy around 2:45pm when Jalopnik posted the video on their home page (http://jalopnik.com/5904702/watch-a-guy-freak-out-as-an-suv-backs-into-his-hand+built-car-out-for-its-first-drive). We have already seen 34,000 hits on the video as of 6:15pm. Exomotive.com has seen a serious increase in traffic today and the servers had a hard time keeping up from ~3-5pm. Every cloud has a silver lining, right?

Wow Kevin, I just saw your video on Jalopnik. Came here immediately to express my sympathies! Glad to hear the damage is not so bad.
In other news, I think those kids will be scarred for life!!

Oh, Kevin that is so annoying, however what a great marketing man you are, the 72,345 views in one day prove the point. This thing is going viral. Gosh I think I will send you a free wing as a reward!

What really irritates the stuff out of me is the people thinking its viral and been setup. Yeah a guy who's spent months hand building this thing and documenting it along the way is going to get someone to back into it on the first drive out.
