Small amount done today but back at it tomorrow afternoon. Need to get this all sorted and then clear out the garage and set up for a cleaner working environment for the build... Got a lot of the wishbone bolts in a rust cleaning dip and its done an amazing job. Slight stall I have is because I have a couple of rear wishbones that need refurbing as I noticed bad bad corrosion and so now need too get them sorted. Also I have bought a second set of front hubs and uprights and unlike the ones on my donor strip.... they havent had the hub nuts freed up. All going well though even if I'm struggling to persuade the driveshafts to go fully home in the Diff :-(

It looks like you pulled the loom into the engine bay rather than into the cab. Was this easy ? I know that they done this on pixel armory YouTube series. I was considering this rather than disturbing sensors etc.

Got my other bits back from the blasters.... And they are being painted and drying, realised I was going to need two new lower hub bolts for the rear so they are on order. Meanwhile its back on 2 wheels, although everything is loose fitted and the front hubs need cracking and then the uprights/knuckles on the front need refurbing and tarted up. Started on the calipers as well... I really really cant wait to finish the calipers, clear the garage and set it up for a clean working environment. Watch this space!

So I've got the nod from Stuart and kit is ready for pick up. I'm really looking forward to seeing the factory and chatting with Stuart on Monday, although with such a road trip wont be able to spend as much as I would probably like to. Will need to write down a top 5 questions/queries so I dont forget whilst there and with the GType demo car in front of my eyes.
Luckily I'm free this weekend so skate will be finished and garage cleaned decorated and a new floor ready for Monday :-)

Been short on updates but not on progress! Kit picked up and great to see the factory and Jules and Stuart but like many I had no spare time to hang about..... That night and during the evenings this week I wrapped the floors and set about the brake and fuel lines.. I then changed my mind on the fuel lines and ran stainless braided and wrapped the floors in 6D carbon fibre..... The panic is over to finish the skate and get everything in the garage and safe. Now time to sit back (semi) relax and contemplate my next phases. That said the bonnet is in the lounge and i'm not sure how long that will be 'OK' :-)

Did you do finish your calipers? If you haven't sorted bits yet, I bought a caliper rebuild kit from bigred via eBay. Really impressed with the quality and fit.

Do you need to use the shock top donuts from the donor on the gtyp? The demo car has steel plates by the loom of it

So after a month overseas I got back at the build this b/hol weekend. I was literally itching to get back at it!.... Braided front brake pipes and anodised red clips to match the shocks and other details that will be on the car. New clutch slave cylinder and K&N 'wrench off' race oil filter I bought a mk1 fuel tank, cleaned it up and got it fitted/drilled mount holes Used a step hole cutter after drilling the pilot holes.... Cleaned up, and applied Kurust and Hammerite to rusty bits on handbrake cable... Fitted the pedals, servo and steering column. After a few goes I left the spacers that are cut off the pedal box off. I shortened the brake pedal piston by 10mm and I ground out the bolt on the clutch pedal that the column bolts too and inserted a longer bolt. Aligning the pedals and rack confused me to start with but basically its easy. Washers here and there and you can space it well. The bulkhead is warped so I used a block and a FBH or electricians screwdriver (AKA effin big hammer) and also applied that! Then I added a mk1 mx5 Momo wheel with pad that is IVA compliant. I have to say its been a very good idea to not get excited and bolt the chassis and coilovers on too early. Me and the wife are easily able to lift the chassis off which has proved invaluable. Started work on the grille... Its now ready for the chassis to be final fitted and get the shocks fitted which feels great! Question for you guys, are the mk1 and mk2 pump and sender units the same? They both have feed and return but am interested from a depth reach point of view. Thanks for reading, John
