Today, painting Underside of fuel tank... Front hub... Shocks...(! now I have put pic up I can see I have missed a bit !) Rear diff housing... On the front calipers, don't do as I did above, I have now stripped the slider mechanism off, cleaned & will repaint. (It is easier to clean and will give a better paint finish).

Front calipers stripped, bit more cleaning and then ready for painting... and also, made a bit of a start on cleaning the gearbox, sump & painting the engine block, no further stripping of the engine, so it could be fiddly getting clean lines... also managed to paint the steering column, back axle and a few other small parts.

Really struggling with the (hammerite) paint drying with the cold...so just finding a few more parts to clean. Today, decided to clean a bit more of the engine, and strip & clean the rear calipers, found the first 'bodge' on the car...spot the difference... which made me check the discs...again spot the difference... Cleaned the rear calipers, ready for painting (on a warmer day) I think i'll be ordering a set of rear discs & pads....

Not much progress over last few days, split the steering wheel from the column to enable sale on ebay, finished cleaning rear calipers & organised loan of a paint heater (to cure the painting planned for Sunday). Wing mirrors arrived today in the post !

Look nice, but not convinced they'll pass the IVA if you want to use them as side-repeaters. Can't see why they shouldn't make great front lamps though.

I intend to still fit side repeaters, just thought for a low small car, the mirrors with indicators would provide a bit more visibility for other road users of my intended actions.

Decided to take the plunge and get the water connection pipe plugged... taking the logic that there will be sufficient water flow (minus the heater) and more airflow around the radiator than an MX-5 with a bodyshell wrapped round it...
