Stuart, with a fair wind I will have the car back on four wheels in the next week or so. I can then measure from the floor accurately, look at shimming the fog lamp in the upright position with a bit of rubber and check out headlamp arrangements. I still want to mount the headlamps in the Ariel Atom style (be a bit different to the rest) so I will have to have a play.

Steering wheel airbag removal reassembly done, the centre portion is very soft when pushed, so I will be using some cavity wall insulation foam to fill the void.

Refitted exhaust. Still doesn't line up. Refitted drivers drive shaft, all went well. Just need to touch up calliper and check everything works ok. Problems on passenger side hub!!!! The drive shaft fitted ok, lined up with wishbones ok, put disk on, caliper doesn't fit. Noticed that hub casting has number 2 on it, drivers side has a 1. Drivers side Passenger side with number 2 Removed passenger side and placed alongside other hub casting I have. The reason I bought the painted hub was due to car was a crash repair and the rear hub was bridged with a smaller disc (see picture on page 7). Now suspect have I got a badged calliper ? Any ideas ?

What do you mean it doesn't fit.. It won't bolt on.. holes don't line up.. Can you take the cal. bracket Drivers side that cal mounts to and holds the pads will it mount on other pass side. just the bracket without the cal part..

Mattapo, My theory is that, because the car was bodged to be drive able (it's been in a crash), I recon I will need a big brake caliper ? Saturdays job, check lefthand against right hand rear caliper, as dimensionally the rear hub castings look the same even with the numbers on, also the hub castings both have NC on them. I think I'll need one of these... www.mx5parts.co.uk/rear-caliper-genuine-mazda-mk25-brake-p-1639.htmlI'll add pictures. Tim

Gwnwar,
Holes on caliper don't line up with stub casting, about 20-30mm out.
I'll try the drivers caliper hanger.

Why do you think you need a big brake caliper. That is part of the sport pkg. That pkg. can be bolted to any 2.0 2.5 car with out changing hubs..it just allows larger brakes.. pics please..

Are the holes in the bracket or the hub wider apart??

The car is a 2004 1800 Euphonic - these I understood had the larger brake disc specification.

So you are going to have 2 different sizes on each side of car?? Wouldn't it be cheaper to get another upright/hub and easier to find??
