Decided to add a radii to corners, to help with addition of edging & re powder coat the rear indicator brackets.
Rear hubs & drive shafts getting a coat of paint along with replacement of CV Boots for a nice clean look on the rear drive train.

Lined up rear indicator brackets, but run out of Riv nuts to mount, so ordered some more from ebay Remove the back box, ideally I'd like a better looking solution, but I'm going to make a few further mods to the oe as the bracket will hinder the view of the indicator The pipe needs bending a further 10mm in board to aid transmission clearance and back box bracket alignment Read that the Air Bag has to be completely removed for the IVA, so drilled rivets out and stripped unit (it is possible to just remove detonation unit) Trialled dashboard bracket, small bit of opening up of holes should make a nice fit to mount four holes on lower bracket on speedo pod I've noticed some people have bracketed at the rear, starting to wonder if need to do this ? Then a bit of cardboard engineering, fuse bracket, rear tank cover, nose cone & bonnet cover brackets....

What are you going to fill the air bag cover with.. I was thinking insulation foam in a spray can used to fill air cracks in homes..Gets hard and is light.. Can be shaped with a knife blade to fit after it dries..

You don't have to fill the airbag void. On the Mk2 (don't know about MK1) the cover just bolts back in and is solid. I just put an amusing antidote in there for someone in the future to discover when they change the wheel... :-) PW.

May I ask how come your re using the stock Mazda Wheel? Personally I find it large, changing it makes it easier to get in and out of and looks better to. (assuming you go for a smaller size to)

Mattapo,
Just using oe steering wheel for the Iva test. It will look ugly compared to the rest of the car, tempted to go for some form of quick release to improve security - post test.
I haven't drilled rivets out of backplate on air bag bracket, to reassemble yet, to test firmness, regarding insulation foam idea.

Looking great chaps, a quality build and a very interesting and detailed blog. My only concern is lighting positions, very difficult to alter at the test, so you need to get it right prior. The fog light must be vertical. The indicators need to be 350 from the floor and the sides need to be seen from 5 degrees out right down to the floor when viewed from the rear of the car. The head/sides need to be seen from the floor at 45 degrees when viewed from the opposite side on which they are mounted. Please check. Regards Stuart

Just been looking through your build from the beginning! Really impressive work! Colour is really smart!
Something I did notice was the front brake hose joins the pipe on the lower wishbone meaning the copper pipe would be moving around with the suspension, is this an ok thing or not?
