Saw you driving past the downs towards whiteladies rd this evening. The car looked very good!! The colour and lights give it real presence.

you should have given me a shout, or thrown something! I take it you didnt see me stop to cool down the smoking rear brakes. new discs were a tad thicker than the worn originals, nearly caught fire! new springs are great too. what kit have you got/going for? alex

don't forget to back off the allen key behind the hex bolt on the rear calipers Alex, that is the way to fit new pads, then you turn it in til it's tight and back it off half a turn.

thanks stuart, sadly one side is seized, so dismantle the caliper and adjusting the piston barrel by hand to set it up. yawn. new caliper on order!

And it's not a 4mm allen key, it's a 6mm (or something like that... dont believe the Rod Grainger manual

No kit unfortunately, though I did have my eye on an exocet. Cost, 2 kids and lack of mechanical skills holding me back. Also, I stupidly sold my mx5. On the mx5, one of my calipers was tight and I had to push piston in with a g clamp. I bled brakes and put some brake fluid between piston and dust cover and this freed it. You may want to trythat first?
