You can keep it just shorten it down to just in front of center hole..

Hi all, can anyone tell me whether being able to fully remove the boot is a requirement for the IVA? With some bits I've added removing it is going to be a pain.

I assume you're referring to the rear tub covering the fuel tank? It's not a requirement to be removable however IVA examiners will want to inspect under there so its best to make provisions so they can access that area with a panel for example or take tons of pictures and explain it will take time to remove the tub.

Does anyone know a UK based laser or water jet cutting company who will do one offs? I am after a pair of wing mounts like the exomotive ones but they haven't responded to email.
I have put a cad drawing together but noone locally seems bothered due to the small nature of the job!
Thanks

To start with I'm going to do it in mild steel for cheapness of making. I just want to get mounting points on the chassis before getting it painted. Later on I will probably look at getting an alloy one mad up.
I managed to find a firm, 35 quid for the 2 brackets doing, should be here next week.

I decided to add some additional framework to the rear as I felt like the back looked too high: I have a question regarding the lighting positions on the rear. I have read various threads on here and referenced the IVA manual but I cannot decide whether the fog light has to be dead centre or not. So far as everyone is aware are the below lighting positions ok? The ones on the outer edges are integrated Stop / indicators etc. I have checked the minimum heights and they fall within spec, I just am not sure whether the fog has to be in the middle? Cheers

Fog has to be on the offside, so if you swap you fog/ reverse lights they will be fine.

Nice one thanks for that, id seen lots of other builds and assumed it was ok. Will swap the fog over when it comes to mounting.

Cheers You can get the lights under the rear bar as long as they sit no lower 350mm off the ground. Mine were large diameter lights and just cleared the magic number with standard springs and shocks. Take a look at my build somewhere on her around page 7 or 8 now.

I will have to remeasure, but didn't you widen the back of your car? I think if I put the indicator/stops under that bar like you have it would be too far in from the edge of the car. hence putting them out.

Also the fog and reverse light can be lower than the rest of the rear lights. Can't remember exact but 250mm off the ground for fog and reverse rings a bell. 350mm for tail, brake and indicator lights.

I am pretty pleased with how the rear wing brackets turned out. I managed to get 1 side mounted properly last night, but below is a photo of them clamped in place: Also finally mounted the electrics box. I am hoping to get the chassis painted in January.
