You are welcome to come round anytime just drop me a message! I appreciate the feedback on my blog but to be honest its no where near as good as some for pictures and info, i use mine as a space to vent my frustrations mostly and to get invaluable knowledge from others I will always try and help where i can!

I was quite impressed when Dave called me to tell me the good news we need to bleed the brakes now to get closer to the test drive stage oh and don't start it for too long without fan belt or it will cook

I was quite impressed when Dave called me to tell me the good news we need to bleed the brakes now to get closer to the test drive stage oh and don't start it for too long without fan belt or it will cook Yeah need to get one more coat of paint on the new caliper before fitting then it will be ready to bleed! Ive order a used alternator at the shocking price of £105, just another blip along the Exocet journey. Will get it on when it comes along with a new belt. but its getting there quicker than i thought it would.

Make sure you use a rubber tube and bottle on the calipers bleed valves when bleeding. Brake fluid will eat the paint off if along. Some brake clean products will do the same..

yeah, £105 for a used alternator! But had to be brought, pity the original seized up while sitting there.
Thanks gwnnwar, ive got a cheap bleed kit to help with that!

Quick question Shane, I assume you transferred the old Mk2 radiator fan onto your new mk1 radiator? Only asking as I've just bought the same radiator and my mk2 fan has two screws on the top and two mounting pins on the bottom which won't fit onto the new radiator. Just wondering if you had the same problem and how you got round it...

Yep, exactly the same problem Ive screwed the top in and temporarily cable tied the bottom of the fan to the rad, not a permanent fix but will do until I figure something out, if you figure something out first, please let me know
